Boy’s Life by Howard Korder

Hmm? Oh, sure. Things are going really really great for me right now. Just fine. I
have my own partition now, over at the office, they put up one of those, ah . . . so
that’s really good. And I’m going to the spa a lot, I’m working ou—well, I can’t use
the machines cause you know of my back, but I love the Jacuzzi, so, actually, it’s
strange cause I fell asleep in it, in the whirlpool, and when I woke up I had this
incredible headache, I mean it would not go away, I felt this thing here like the size
of a peach pit, I went for a blood test, I was convinced I, you hear all this stuff now,
the way it’s spreading, I mean I’m not—but I was sure I had it. It. You know (Pause).
I didn’t. So. Anyway, it’s funny we both happened to turn up here tonight, isn’t it,
cause I was just thinking, I was wondering . . . I mean, it’s a couple of months since I
last spoke to you and I was just wondering if we were still, you know, seeing each
other.
