 Lab Objective
This lab provides an opportunity to spend some time researching the various Linux
distributions. See if you have a preference for a particular distribution and try it out.
They are all free.

Lab Mission
Become familiar with Linux-based operating systems, and search online for differences
among the most common distributions.

Lab Duration
10-15 minutes

There are no special requirements for the lab tasks.

Lab Task
Read about Linux-based operating systems online, search for the purpose of each
distribution, and discover their differences.
Your research should focus on the following distributions:
- Ubuntu
- RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
- CentOS
- Debian
- OpenSUSE
Try to find answers to the following questions:

1 Is the distribution related to another distribution in the list?

2 Who maintains the distribution?
3 What is special about the distribution?
4 What infrastructure is this distribution intended for (personal, commercial)?
Extra:
- Are there any other Linux distributions worth mentioning?
- Is there a manufacturer that ships computers with Linux installed?
