Expandable Transmit Combiner Multicouplers

400-550 MHz
TP4053 and TP4055 Series

The TP Series cavity combiners are ideally suited to combining multiple transmitters in analogue
and digital communications systems. Unlike ‘star’ or ‘parallel’ harnessed cavity combiners, this
user-friendly architecture provides a broadband solution and allows services to be combined
across the entire bandwidth of the antenna. The future expansion of the combiner can be easily
performed in-the-field, without retuning or returning the combiner to the factory. The flexibility of the
TP Series also caters for other combiner designs requiring multiple transmit, receive, and or transmit/
receive frequencies operating in simplex, half duplex, or full duplex configurations. These may be
implemented using either separate transmit and receive antennas, or single antenna systems.

TP Series cavity combiners are available for most frequency bands from 66MHz to 960MHz. The
series-combining architecture allows multiple channels in one frequency band, or across multiple
frequency bands, to be easily combined without compromising per-channel performance. This
enables combiners to use the broad bandwidths now available in modern antenna designs - or in
single-band or multi-band radiating cable (leaky feeder) Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
19in Rack Frame Mounting Style
These rugged products are made from high quality corrosion-resistant plated aluminium, using
a welded top plate, an Invar tuning rod, and a silver-plated tuning assembly to provide excellent
performance stability across an extended operating temperature range, and when used in a diverse
range of installation environmental conditions. This high-quality construction ensures users benefit
from a long, trouble-free, low-maintenance and cost-effective life-cycle from these products.

TP Series combiners can be supplied with supporting mounting hardware – including free-standing
or wall-mounted Peg Racks, various styles of 19in rackmount frames, or customised mounting
brackets - which may be ordered separately to suit desired site installation requirements.

¼ Wave or ¾ Wave, 168mm (6") or 254mm (10")

TP Series UHF combiners are available using ¼ or ¾ wavelength cavities, in a choice of 168mm (6.625”) or 254mm (10”) diameters.
Cavity filter size most determines the performance characteristics of a combiner when configured for a customer’s base station
frequencies and transmitter output powers. RFI provides consultation and design services, including recommending cavity filter size and
combiner configurations, enabling our customers to realise the optimum performance results from their communications systems.

Cavity combiner designs combining multiple channels using minimum frequency spacings may result in higher levels of isolator heat dissipation due to
inter-channel coupling. For specific product information or combiner design assistance, please contact your nearest RFI Sales Office.
