ASSIGNMENTS OUTLINE
ASSIGNMENT QUESTIONS

 MODULE 1 : For the organisation of your choice, identify the leadership approach and role in strategic
management.
 MODULE 2 : For the Chosen organisation, evaluate how leadership will influence teams and employees
associated.
 MODULE 3 : For the chosen organisation, evaluate the impact of leadership on organizational effectiveness.
 MODULE 4 : Examine the impact of latest developments in business world (ethics, Organizational value, CSR) on
organizational value and leadership.
 Points to remember: The Strategic Leadership Unit consist of 4 assignments. Each assignment will be a continuity to
the previous one .The learner is expected to choose same organisation through out the whole assignments.

 Maximum Word Limit is 4500 words for all assignment together.


MODULE 1

 Assignment Question : For the organisation of your choice, identify the leadership approach and role in strategic
management.
Step 1 : Select an organization/Company of your choice
• Give an introduction of the chosen company. Ie. Company name, type of business structure (Sole proprietorship,
LLC, partnership or corporation), Location, When was the business started, what inspired you to start the
business, what need does your company fulfill, what products and services its offering etc.

• Give an organizational chart, a chart that displays a reporting or relationship hierarchy or the structure of the
company.
 STEP 2 :
 RUBRIC 1 : Explain the meaning and importance of leadership.
• Start the study and analysis in the selected company and write the mission, vision and objective of the chosen
firm.
• To achieve the aforesaid, what is the role, need and importance of leadership in your chosen firm.
 RUBRIC 2 : Contrast the main approaches to the study of leadership.
• Generally analyze the various leadership approaches and conclude which approaches will suitable for your firm
or which approaches are currently using in the chosen firm.
• Also evaluate which all leadership styles are visible in your chosen firm and its functioning and benefits.
 RUBRIC 3 : Critically evaluate the role of leadership in strategic management.

MODULE 2
 Assignment Question: : For the Chosen organisation, evaluate how leadership will influence teams and employees
associated.
Step 1 :
• To achieve the aforesaid mission, vision and day to day tasks, mention the role of individuals, groups and teams in
your chosen firm.
• Briefly explain the various formal groups/ teams/ informal groups within your organization. Explain their role too.
• How the teams and groups are formed. (briefly mention the use of Belbin team roles, stages of team development
etc)
 RUBRIC 1 : Critically compare the relationships between leaders of work groups, and leaders of
teams.
• Include the concept of Vertical and Shared Leadership and also analyze the leaders relationship in workgroups and
teams.
 RUBRIC 2 : Distinguish between the influence of leadership on groups and teams, and on formal and
informal groups.
Compare both separately.
 Rubric 3 : Critically evaluate the characteristics of an effective work group and team.
POINTS TO REMEMBER

 You can refer to any Learning materials to write the assignments. (But the assignments should show your
understanding on the topics)
 Plagiarism level should be less than 2 % for each UNITS
 Follow the organizational study through out the study
 Use Harvard referencing style ( see the video shared earlier)
 Try to finish your assignments within the allowable word limit
 References or Bibliographies are not count under the allowable word limit
