367 schools in Banyuwangi starting PTM, students are limited to 50 percent
BANYUWANGI, KOMPAS.com - Hundreds of schools in Banyuwangi, East Java, have
started implementing Limited Face-to-face Learning (PTMT) for PAUD, Elementary Schools (SD), and Junior High Schools (SMP), in the midst of implementing PPKM Level 3 on Monday (16 /8/2021). The Acting Head of the Banyuwangi Education Office, Suratno, said that there were 339 elementary schools and 28 junior high schools that carried out face-to-face learning. "339 elementary schools or 50 percent of 600 elementary schools have done PTMT. Meanwhile, only 5 percent of junior high schools, namely 28 junior high schools," said Suratno in a written statement, Monday. He said the PTMT was adjusted to the readiness of the school. In addition to being implemented with a capacity of 50 percent of the total number of students, there are certain requirements that must be met. Among them are all teachers and education personnel who have been completely vaccinated against Covid-19 and have facilities that meet the Covid-19 health protocol. In addition, the environment around the school and where students live is in a low-risk zone for Covid-19. Then in its implementation, said Suratno, there must be approval from the parents of students, the school committee, and the District Covid-19 Handling Task Force. The Covid-19 Task Force must also accompany and monitor the implementation of learning, especially with regard to the consistency of health protocols and the implementation of PTMT learning SOPs. Activities at school should also not cause crowds. Meanwhile, for junior high school education units, they must move quickly to coordinate with the nearest health facility to accelerate vaccination among junior high school students and report it through the junior high school vaccination link. "So not all schools can do PTMT. It depends on their readiness. Moreover, at this time there are also schools that are still used as centralized isolation places for COVID-19 patients," said Suratno. However, he ensures that PTMT will continue to be evaluated in its implementation. If Banyuwangi is able to survive at level 3 and above, then PTMT can continue. However, if it drops to level 4, then PTMT is not impossible to stop again. Meanwhile, specifically for PTMT at the SMA/SMK/Special Education and Special Service Education (PK-PLK) levels, it is currently still in the preparation process. "We are still in the preparation process and have not implemented it yet. While waiting for the SE from the province, today we are distributing an official memorandum to school principals as well as a PTMT readiness check list in the form of infrastructure, human resources, students, health protocols and PTMT guidelines," concluded the Head of the Provincial Education Office Branch. East Java Region Banyuwangi, Istu Handono. The implementation of this PTMT follows up on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Corona Virus Disease 2019 Restrictions in the Java and Bali Regions dated August 9, 2021. As well as the Banyuwangi Regency Covid-19 Task Force Circular Number 054/SE/STPC/2021 concerning the Implementation of Level 3 Corona Virus Disease 2019 Restrictions in Banyuwangi Regency on August 10, 2021.
