The Power of Silence
I. Introduction
Silence is power, when timed has more eloquence then Speech is silver, Silence is golden.
Silence is as a powerful as a weapon. Some people fear it, others fear its non-existence, some are
used to it, others would do any thing to avoid it. People who are ready to do anything to avoid
the sound of silence are the ones who keep themselves busy, with the sound of music always in
the background, being always on the phone, always playing video games... anything but silence.
Why? Because when everything is silent around you all you can hear is your inner voice, and
There isn't much room for silence in human's life, they live in a noisy world filled with
distractions and sounds that causes many effects on their mental and physical health. Firstly,
being silent will appear the person more powerful. Humans are swept up in a tidal wave of stress
in a loud and chaotic live. And sometimes they never know the value of a thing until they lose it.
Firstly, being silent makes the person more powerful and confident. Researchers found that
successful people who separate themselves from noises and chaos understand the power of
silence. A silent person appears powerful, no one knows what he's thinking about, always paying
attention and ready to listen, his presence makes other people uncomfortable, hence they try to
fill the awkward silence with unnecessary talks and reveal many things about themselves.
Besides, silent people will be more significant and listeners will pay more attention.

B. Second Mental Benefit: Convince Daily Life Challenges
In addition, silence is prominent in negotiations and builds inner peace. Being silent helps to
be more patient as well. Studies have shown that people who are being comfortable being silent
tend to have more patience, wisdom and self-esteem, it also shows their respect to others, that
they give them time to express their thoughts and desires and not rushing them into taking
decisions. When someone talks a lot, they don’t give them time to think and that makes it look
like they hiding something and rushing them into a decision. Everyday life has many challenges
and being silent is an enormous benefit that can make the challenges easier. From being in a
traffic jam, to waiting in line to check-out, to receiving an answer from a company you applied
for a job at... Silence is a way to counteract the consequences of what's inevitable in everyday
life. the reaction of a normal person can be annoyed and angry or for a silent person is to sit
patiently in silence, thinking. Thus, being silent creates an atmosphere of trust and honestly.
Furthermore, silence has a great impact on health which leads us to the silence having a great
impact on health. Studies showed that noise pollution leads to high blood pressure, higher risks
of having heart attacks as well as impairing hearing and overall health. Silence is a way to
counteract the consequences of that is inevitable in everyday life. When a person is being silent,
he/she slows down and his/her muscles are relaxed that helps cure headaches, migraines and
tension in the neck and the back. The breathing slows, the heart rate drops and the person can

D. Second Physical Benefit: Being Calmer and Comfortable.
Moreover, it makes anyone calmer. Silence is considerable way to calm inner self, relax,
and reduce stress and tension. It gives the brain a chance to take a break from all the noise and
rush of everyday life. Being silent has a soothing effect on the mental state. Most people tend to
live in a hurry and they forget to take time to take care of themselves, being silent a simple way
to give the mind a much-needed break, it is an easy but powerful way to become calmer and
more resistant to everyday stress. And they will not waste their energy so much, energy is
drained every day from humans by all the noise around, as well as the noise the people are
creating with their constant talking. Human energy levels are similar to the batteries in phones,
they are fuller charged when men are well-rested in the morning and as the day passes by, all the
things they do such as working, making decisions and talking, use their energy and they end up
exhausted. Being silent and in general taking some quiet time helps us recharge and waste much
less energy.
III. Conclusion
Eventually, silence is a very profound and mysterious subject. The only element of silence
and its loss, otherwise known as noise or the effect of it on things outside of the known realities.
Silence is a beautiful antidote to all the craziness we live. Humans can spend a lifetime in silence
without the ability of uncovering the slightest truth about it. It may be that the role of silence
varies depending on the natures we decide to live in. Nevertheless, Martin Luther King Jr. once
said: “There comes a time when silence is betrayal". Will the silence of people we wanted to
hear their voices the most be the sly foe instead of remembering the words of our enemies?
