Film institute merging film production with interaction space.

INTRODUCTION:
This thesis aims at bringing the gap between professional practice of filmmaking and theoretically
education in film industry, where students can get the equal opportunity and exposer to showcase
their talent in national & international level.

A mixed used film institute where every type of facilities are provided for students. Campus should
design according to the user. Students of the film institute needed to produce film as part of their
sessional , so their basic requirements is shooting area , sets , film departments , etc. . In film
institute campus does focus on every facility but do not consider film sets as an important part. So in
this thesis by the use of interactive space where focused on transition space of the campus
encourages the interaction of the user to infrastructure by the permanent film sets, which appears
like a film set but inside having an institutional .

So the permanent set will be used as institute and when the students needed in their film they can
alter the sets and can use as a film sets. The commercial side of the institute is that there is
screening of the student‘s work that can be seen by the common people.

AIM:
This thesis aims at bringing gap between theory and practice of film making by creating
Interactive and Transitional spaces and improves the Film educational system in terms of
creative thinking and technical knowledge.

OBJECTIVES:
 Getting all the general information on the process of film making and implement it
while designing.
 Selection of an appropriate site for the implementation of developed program & its
analysis.
 To study about interactive & transitional space this can be implemented in film
institute.
 To study about implementation of film institute with film studio.
 To design space this could bring the students closer to the production practice.
 To create multifunctional spaces that can be used as a live study in campus.
 Providing more theatres and cinema screen.

SCOPE:
Improving learning environments for students could enhance their creative skills. This could
be done by combining film schools to film production studios.
Students need to be provided with more opportunities and easy networking options. They
also need to experience the actual film making process
NEEDS :
It‘s a need to improve the production of films in India by developing new ideas, techniques,
infrastructure & methods which will help to cope up the growing & fast developing need of
the industry.
To help match up the international standards.

Bringing different spaces and programs together to create interaction among users
ABOUT THE PROJECT :
What - This project propose a integrated institutional building to film which
directly approach the students. People who are eager to enter the film making
and cine field can avail the benefits of the student.
Why - To pursue the film course student travel towards Mumbai, so the
proposal in Chennai will attract the native people who cant migrate to
Mumbai. If we propose film institute at Chennai student will take admission in
Chennai and also cultural and heritage of tamilnadu will be imbibed.
Where - Chennai have a cinema hub where majority of producers, actors
directors dwell.
Whom - Creative students, technical person, talented budding cine stars will
be benefited by this project
When - At present tamil cinema is recognized by the world by limited number
of good films the other spoilers emerge in this modern world. To retain the
quality of the field the project is proposed.
