the culture and structure of the organization (McGinnis, 2007). There are several ways in which

managers can foster change and influence the organizational behavior. This article mainly

discusses some of the organizational behavior practices that can foster positive changes in the

workforce. These practices include planning, group thinking, and measuring change.

Lasting positive changes only come as a result of advance planning. Based on

Kinicki and Kreitner’s (2012) assertions, it is recommended for organizations to plan for change

by minimizing risks and maximizing profits. This can be done by conducting researches in

organizations with the aim of identifying obstacles to positive change in workplace and coming

up with effective measures to eliminate potential obstacles from the start. McGinnis, for instance,

such as the health sector. A united workforce fosters positive change since workers are united

through a common purpose. Moreover, workers must be reminded of the shared identity and

purpose of the organization on a regular basis. If workers feel they share a common identity and

purpose within a workplace, they are likely to unite and carry out positive change.

Measuring change in a workplace can be done in various ways. Surveys is often

used by many organizations. This tool not only measures employee willingness to change in

relation to organizational practices but also measures the effectiveness of the change once

implemented. Employee opinions are essential since they can be used to monitor and continue

evaluating change. In addition, organizations will build the workforce commitment by using their
