15. A shopkeeper purchased 100 bulbs for Rs.30 each. However 20 bulbs were fused and had to
be thrown away. The remaining were sold at Rs. 40 each. Find the gain or loss %.
16. A shopkeeper bought two TV sets at Rs. 50000 each. He sold one at a profit 20% and the
other at a loss of 20%. Find whether he made an overall profit or loss.
17. Waheeda bought an air cooler for Rs.7000 including a tax of 10%. Find the price of the air
cooler before VAT was added.
18. The cost of a pair of roller skates at a shop was Rs.500. The sales tax charged was 5%. Find
the bill amount.
19. By what per cent is Rs.5000 less than Rs.6000? Is it the same as the per cent by which
Rs.6000 is more than Rs.5000?
20. A milkman sold two of his buffaloes for Rs. 18700 each. On one he made a gain of 10% and
on the other a loss of 15%. Find his overall gain or loss.

21. A man got a 12% increase in his salary. If his new salary is Rs.56000, find his original salary.
22. A sum of Rs.30000 is borrowed at a rate of interest 8% per annum for 2 years. Find the
