FOR MARINE FLARE SUPPORT CONSTRUCTION INTRODUCTION ‘This method statement presents an overview of the principal methods and equipment to be used to construct the three main elements of the Works related to Berth # 4 Marine Flare Support Structure. © Piles ‘* Reinforced Conerete Platform © Miscellaneous Items This method statement and job safety analysis are hereby developed within these elements to deseribe in more detail the methods used, the resources deployed and the controls put into place to eliminate or mitigate safety hazards and adverse environmental impacts. DOCUMENT CONTROL This method statement is a controlled document as required by the system procedure Quality Planning and issued in accordance with the system procedure Control of Documents and Data. ‘The method statement is subject to amendment during the execution of the Works as a result of periodic review and whenever circumstances require subject to CTSV approval. Revisions will be issued in accordance with the system procedure Control of Documents and Data whenever the main text changes or when an appendix is added or removed, Revised appendices for substitution will be issued separately and, where appropriate, will include a separate schedule of contents. This document's revision and appendix issue status is shown in the Project Register of Management System Documents, a copy of which may be obtained from the Project Office upon request. HEALTH, SAFETY AND THE ENVIRONMENT Health and Safety Hazards ‘As required by the Project Health & Safety Plan, the significant health and safety hazards of this work have been analysed in accordance with the general procedure Hazard Analysis and Environmental Impact Assessment and are listed below. Communications. 1 Marine Equipment will be provided with VHF station. They shall co-ordinate each other in VH Frequency different than the one used at Ras Laffan Port in order not to interfere with their operations. The PM is responsible for the management and co-ordination of all the sub- contractors and concemed authorities, so as the works on the project to be carried out in a safe and environmentally way to meet contract requirements, in particular for time and quality. Construction activities will be carried on a 24-hours basis. Night Shift Procedure shall be adopted. Long, 120 nos., will be delivered by Archirodon to local workshop for blasting & painting with Interzone 954. 62.2.2 Pipes will be transported to Archirodon lay down area for fabrication and welding as per WPS prepared in accordance with AWS D1.1 Standard. 62.2.3 After successful inspection and ultrasonic testing (100%) of welded joints (8 nos. totals), painting of piles joints shall be completed. 6.2.2.4 Completed piles 4 nos. will be transported to site location via deck barge towed by tug boat. 62.2.5 A self elevated platform i.e. “Jay Robertson” = JR will be mobilized for the installation of piles. Installation will follow the construction steps as illustrated in Appendix-C drawing 6.2.3 Construction of Reinforced Concrete Platform 62.3.1 For this purpose a temporary steel structure shall be designed & constructed to support the formwork of the reinforced concrete platform and its own weight till the achievement of the required concrete strength. Design report is attached to Appendix G. 62.3.2. Installation will follows the construction steps as illustrated in Appendix-C 62.33. After completing wet curing for 14 days a curing compound will be applied to the exposed conerete surface. 6.2.4 Miscellaneous Items 62.4.1 Bridge flare plinths and maintenance platform will be constructed upon the casting of concrete platform as per normal practice, ARCHIRODON CONSTRUCTION (OVERSEAS) Co. All steel reinforcement will delivered to the site cut & bend as per bar bending schedule prepared as per IFC drawings. Maintenance steel platform will be fabricated and delivered to site ready for installation by Archirodon. Protection coating will be applied to bottom, sides and top surfaces of concrete platform as per manufacturer instructions. Concrete will be produce from Archirodon Batching Plant at the lay down area. Concrete mix design approved by CTJV will be used for piles and concrete platform. QUALITY CONTROL ‘The construction and installation works will be surveyed and inspected in accordance with IFC drawing Project specifications and ITP’s.
