CALCULATION
Medium Duty
Note:
Safe working load for each clamp = 7 kN = 714.2857 Kg ( Man. Certificate for BS 1139. EN 74 )
Max.Loading = 1428.57 Kg ( Double Coupler )
Allowable loading for working = 450 Kg < 1428.571 Kg ( Safe )

7.1 Loading
1 Axial Load on Diagonal Strut
P = Concentrated Load
PT = Man Load + Equipment + Spot Board
qT + 4 pcs Coupler kg
= 160 + 60 + 18.65 + 4 kg
= 242.648 kg
Axial load on diagonal strut = 242.6 / ( sin 45 )
PT = 285.2 Kg/m

qT = Transom Distributed Load (kg/m)

w/2 = Self Weight (SW)
= SW Transom Pipe + SW Board

w = 1200 mm SW Transom Pipe = Pipe weight per m (kg/m)

= 1.2 m = 4.12 kg/m
R1T R2T
Dimension of Board = 4 mL x 0.25 mW
Board Area per pcs = 1 m2
Weight of Board per pcs = 15.54 kg
Board Specific Weight = 15.54 kg / 1 m2
= 15.54 kg/m2
SW Board = Board Specific Weight x W
= 15.54 kg/m2 x 1.2 m
= 18.65 kg/m = 0.1827504 Knm

Hence: qT = SW Transom Pipe + SW Board Beban Mati

= 4.12 + 18.648 kg/m
= 22.768 kg/m = 0.2231 Knm

7.1.2. Stress Force :

Transom
∑ F = 0
R1T + R2T = PT + qT x w
R1T = R2T
2 R1T = 285 + 22.768 x 1.2 ( Beban Hidup + Beban Mati )
2 R1T = 430.226875 kg
R1T = 215.113438 kg/m = 2.108112 Kn

7.1.3. Bending Moment :

Transom
∑ M = ¼ PT x w + 1/8 qT x w2
= '1/4 ( 285.165 ) X 1.2 + '1/8 X 4.12 X ( 1.2 ) ^2
= 85.549534 + 0.7416
= 86.291134 kg.m
= 8.46516025 x 10^5 N.mm

σ = M x (OD/2) / I
= 846516.0245 x ( 48.3 / 2) / 137731.17
= 846516.0245 x 24.15 / 137731.1681
= 148.4294534 N.mm2 < 401 N.mm2 ( Safe )

7.2 Ledger Calculation

7.2.1. Load : PL
PL = Concentrated Load (kg)
qL = Stress force of Transom = R1T

qL = Distributed Load (kg/m)

= Weight of Ledger Pipe per m
= 4.12 kg/m
L/2

L = 2300 mm
= 2.3 m
R1L R2L

7.2.2. Stress Force :

∑ F = 0
R1L + R2L = PL + qL x L
R1L = R2L
2 R1L = 215.113438 + 4.12 x 2.3
2 R1L = 224.589438 kg
R1L = 111.926719 kg

7.2.3. Bending Moment :

∑ M = ¼ PL x L + 1/8 qL x L2
= ¼ ( 215.1 ) x 2.3 + '1/8 x 4.12 x ( 2 )^2
= 123.6825 + 2.72435
= 109.7417188 kg.m
= 10.76566 x 10^5 N.mm
σ = M x (OD/2) / I
= 1076566.261 x ( 48 / 2 )/ 137731.17
= 1076566.261 x 24 / 137731.168
= 188.7668242 N.mm2 < 401 N.mm2 ( Safe )
