ACCUMULATOR BACK PRESSURE TEST (A-341E)

NOTE: Perform test at normal operating fluid temperature 122-176°F (50-80°C). Ensure
oil pressure gauge hose does not come in contact with exhaust pipe.

Line Pressure Test

1. Move right side heat insulator aside. Remove plug from transmission case and install Pressure Gauge
(09992-00094). See Fig. 45 .
2. Remove passenger side No. 2 under cover. Connect a jumper lead to terminal SLN of ECU wire harness
side connector, but DO NOT ground jumper at this time.
3. Apply parking brake. Block wheels. Start engine. Ensure idle speed is within manufacturer's
specification. Place transmission in "D" range.
4. Measure accumulator back pressure. See ACCUMULATOR BACK PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
table. Repeat procedure with jumper lead connected to ground. Compare all readings to specification.

1. If accumulator back pressure is not as specified when terminal SLN is grounded, check for following:
Throttle cable out of adjustment, throttle valve defective, solenoid modulator valve defective, SLN
solenoid valve defective or accumulator control valve defective.
2. If accumulator back pressure does not become zero when terminal SLN is grounded, check for defective
SLN solenoid valve.
