Introduction

• Integrated Final Project (IFP) is the most


important report that should be prepared
by the Final Year Students of AP119
program.
• The group has to study and analyze from a
maintenance organization/ company
manage in a case study building.
• The group shall relate the data with their
knowledge in how to build a well
maintenance organization. At the end of
this study, the students be able to identify
the strength and weakness of the
organization that may emphasis to the
property maintenance management.

Objectives

The objectives of the project are to:


• Delivered the understanding on the
importance of the property maintenance
management.
• Learn and analyze through the data
collection on the multi-disciplinary approach
in maintenance.
• Prepare a scientific technical report of any
commercial building.
• Be able to communicate, work in the team,
present the report and research to the
audience.

Task
• Currently, a green building approach has widely implemented as to reduce a
carbon footprint as to support a sustainable agenda by the Government of
Malaysia. In fact, according to GBI (2015), a Green building focuses on
increasing the efficiency of resource use – energy, water, and materials –
while reducing building impact on human health and the environment
during the building’s lifecycle, through better sitting, design, construction,
operation, maintenance, and removal.
• Hence, in a team of 4-5 person, you are required to carry out the overall
maintenance analysis and produce a technical report of the property that
adapt the advanced technology in supporting the building operation.
• Case study requirements:
a)The building must be AT LEAST Certified Green Building by GBI with
minimum one (1) years operation; OR
b)The building must be large Building (Large scale building i.e commercial
building with inclusive of shopping mall, factory or etc.) and equipped
with advanced technology with minimum 2 years operation OR
c) Medium rise buildings (6 storeys and above i.e office building, institution
building, hotel or etc.), and equipped with advanced technology with
minimum 2 years operation
AND
subject to approval by IFP Coordinator.

Assessment

The grading will be based on the standard grading


system adopted by the department and the
percentage are as follow:

o Interim Progress Presentation 30%


❖ 1st stage submission/presentation : 10 %
❖ 2nd stage submission/presentation : 10 %
❖ 3rd stage submission/presentation : 10 %

o Final Report (Written) 50%


o Final Presentation (VIVA) 20%

Other Requirements
• Report must be in standard format A4, 1 ½ spacing,
font 12 (Times New Roman) and pages number
minimum 90 pages.
• After the panels satisfy with the report and
presentation, the students are allowed to bind the
report in hard cover binding (navy blue black).
• The group shall be 4-5 students in a group and will
be consulted by a supervisor given.
• The group should search a building themselves and
follow the building criteria:.
1) The building is a commercial purposed and
using an advanced technology.
2) The buildings that have been studied from the
past 2 years and onward are black listed.
• The group should meet the supervisor every week
during studio session before the final submission.
The supervisor is provided with supervision record
and penalty will be given to those groups which
disobey the course instructions.
