and the manufacture, as well as the acceptance conditions for Base Plates made
of rolled steel and sections for Base Plates.
This specification shall be accompanied, at the time of the request for tender, by
the documents required for the execution of the contract and, in particular, those
concerning the application of the articles in this specification set out below:
1.1 Material,
1.3 Drawings and gauges,
1.4 Marks,
1.6.1 Cutting of Rolled Profiles
1.7 Tolerances,
2.1.2 Nature and extent of tests,
2.3.2 Procedure for tests and inspections.
1 CONDITIONS OF MANUFACTURE
1. 1 Material
The steel making process shall be left to the choice of the supplier.
At the purchasing Railway's request, the supplier shall state, in his tender, the
nature and main characteristics of this process; he cannot modify them without
informing the purchasing Railway beforehand.
In addition to the blooms obtained from ingots, those obtained by continuous cast
may also be used, but only with the purchasing Railway's agreement:
The grade of steel used shall be one of those set out in the following table,
according to the choice of the Purchasing Railway :-
