History of the Origins of the Game of Chess
The chess game according to Wikipedia was first discovered in Persian and Arabic societies. The
word "chess" itself comes from the word "chaturanga," which in Sanskrit means "the four
divisions of the army."

Chess then spread throughout the world with various variants of the game until we know it as it
is today.

This game initially spread to the Far East and India and became one of the lessons in the Persian
royal and aristocratic family. Buddhist leaders, merchants passing the Silk Road began to
introduce chess boards for this game.

Chaturanga entered Europe through the Byzantine Persian Championship, and spread to the Arab
Empire. Muslims then brought chess to North Africa, Sicily and Spain in the 10th century.

This game later became popular in Europe. And, by the end of the 15th century, this game
escaped the list of games banned by the Church. In the modern century began to appear chess
reference books, then the use of the chess clock, as well as a number of game rules and great
players.
History of the Origins of Indian Chess

The origin of modern chess is known as Charuranga, which developed in India in the 6th
century. Since the beginning of this game, it has introduced two playing parties, different pieces
of chess with different strengths, and the victory depends on the last pieces, or in modern chess it
is marked by the fall of the king. In ancient chess, the chessboard had 100 boxes or more.

In the early 19th century, an opinion was conveyed by Captain Hiram Cox and Duncan Forbes
that in the past chess was played by 4 people at once, including four players in chaturanga.

In Sanskrit terminology, "Chaturanga" means "to have four parts" and in epic poetry it also
means "soldier." The name itself derives from a battle formation in the famous Mahabrata epic in
India. Chaturanga is a war game simulation to show the strength of India's military strategy at
that time.

Ashtapada, an 8 x 8 box on a board is Charuranga's playground. Other known boards in India are
Dasapada 10 x 10 and Saturankam 9 x 9.

Arab scientist Abu al-Hasan “Al? al-Mas ”? d? provides details on the use of chess as a means of
military strategy, mathematics, gambling and is sometimes linked to fortune-telling in India and
elsewhere. Notes Mas ”? D? also shows that Ivory in India was a chess game producing area for
the first time, spreading and introducing the game from Persia to India during the Nushirwan
Empire
Then the evolution that occurs in the game of chaturanga known as Shatranj (chatrang), which is
a two-player game whose defeat and victory are determined through service to all opponent
pieces (except the king) or through conquest of the opposing king. The position of the pawn and
