SCREENING, SEEKING, and SEIZING OPPORTUNITIES

Opportunity is defined in the dictionary as a favorable or advantageous circumstance or a

combination of circumstances. In life, opportunity comes and go and to miss that opportunity will surely
make one feel remorse. But the opportunity comes to those who are ready for the opportunity, and not for
those who merely seek advancement.

The quote “Opportunity knocks one” means that there are limited chances of opportunity. But I
reject that notion, since Opportunity is always there for us, ready to be seized. As Ann Landers,
“Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.” In other words,
the opportunity only goes to those who worked hard for it.

But in some instances, if the opportunity doesn’t knock, then build a door. As George Bernard
Shaw once said, “Don’t wait for the right opportunity, create it.” Indeed, to be a successful businessman
you have to have this kind of mindset where you strive to open opportunities through difficulties. A
person who builds opportunities and has his sight to an even higher stage in life. Furthermore, this person
will meticulously climb through difficulties, step by step to grasp a better and brighter future.
