A Note from the Bishop’s Desk
Each year on this first Sunday of Advent I wish all of you a Happy
New Year. Indeed, the Year of Grace 2022 has begun. Much like
the secular world does on January 1, we should be taking stock of
our lives and making resolutions of what we need to change
about ourselves to become more Christ centered persons. Advent
is not about awaiting the birth of a babe to save us. Its about
praying for the return of the Savior.
I am aware of the shopping, meal preparation, parties and the like that go into
making the holidays such memorable events for each of us. However, try to keep the
season as holy and focused as you can as you prepare for the Christmas
celebrations. Remember Christ is the Reason for the Season as it was before, is now
and will be forever. Be ready. Be Watchful. Be filled with expectation and hope.

Expenses We continue to meet on Zoom, YouTube Live and have a social media
presence on Facebook and Twitter. We have begun meeting in person again. There
are costs to our ministries, and we ask you to remember us at least monthly as you
pay your other bills.
Costs to obtain the 501(c) (3) – As previously announced we must file for our
exemption from Federal Taxes as a church. The approximate costs will be close to
$1600.00. Most of that figure is to cover the preparation of the application. Please be
as generous as you can in helping us raise the cash necessary to complete this
application process. So far $250 has been raised toward this goal.
Advent Evening Prayer – Starting this Wednesday, we will celebrate Evening
Prayer during the Season of Advent. Evening Prayer will be at 6:30 PM followed
immediately by our new education opportunity of Breaking Open the Word for the
upcoming Sunday.
Car Food Bag Ministry – Did you know that you can feed 20 people a meal for
under $50? You simple prepare the gallon Ziploc bags and hand them out as you
drive about town and spot someone in need at intersections. For more info contact
the Bishop or Deacon.
COVID-19 – We have opened again for in person worship. We ask that if you are not
vaccinated that you still worship online.
Exploring Our Faith – We are continuing our Virtual Class on the Four Gospels.
Our next class is tomorrow at 7 PM on Zoom.
Beginning this Wednesday November 24, we will break open the Word for the
upcoming Sunday. The session will begin at 7PM this week. During the rest of
Advent. It will begin at the end of Evening Prayer. The Book for this series is $10. We
have one book left for purchase.
Have Chalice Will Travel – Would you be willing to host a Sunday Liturgy in your
home? Bishop Cavins is willing to celebrate Divine Worship at your home. All that is
required is a Wi-Fi internet connection so we may stream the service who might not
be able to attend. You may invite your friends and family to attend as well so that
others get to know about Inclusive Catholicism.
Advent Food Drive – We want to thank all of you who donated food for the Advent
Food Drive. This year the food is being donated to the Hope and Help Center Food
Bank.
Bishop Break – Bishop Cavins will be unavailable this coming week from Tuesday
through Saturday as he makes an Advent Retreat. In an emergency contact Father
Brown or Deacon Larsen.
