DEFINE HUMAN RIGHTS BSMA 1-2
IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
Mr. Adam Ramilo

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are the most basic and fundamental rights that
every human possesses and is free to exercise from the moment he or she
is born on this world until the day he or she dies. It aims to protect
all people in the world, regardless of race, nationality, color, gender,
status, and regardless of their background, where they live, what they
think or what they believe. Human rights are given to and belong to
everyone without prejudice.

Human rights are set of principles that acknowledge and safeguard

our individual value that need to be respected. It emphasizes that everyone
is a moral and rational being worthy of equal respect and dignity. It
governs every individual in society in terms of how they will live in it,
as well as their relationships with the people with whom they live with and
the government and state, which is the one who will enforce these rights if
they are violated. It is the type of liberty that every individual is
entitled to since it is universal, and no one can voluntarily give it up or
take it away from anybody, however it may be restricted in some
circumstances. Human rights legislation requires the government to do
certain things and prohibits people from infringing other people's rights,
whether intentionally or unintentionally. When exercising their human
rights, individuals must also respect the rights of others. Nobody, not a
group, not a person, not even the government, has the authority to violate
the rights of others. It recognizes our freedom to make our own decisions
about our lives and to reach our greatest potential as human beings. Human
rights want us to live a life free of fear, harassment, and discrimination.
They are also present to help us in get along with one another and live-in
harmony. Human rights violations such as discrimination, intolerance,
injustice, oppression, and enslavement can occur when individuals are not
aware of their rights.
