Scene 7

Dim yellow lighting, setting uneasy feeling

Set in a small apartment on 22nd street, Seattle.
Jenny walks into the kitchen, watching every little move her husband, Clay, does

Clay: how was your day at work hun

Jenny: …...okay….

Clay: I heard you've been getting some good sales, hopefully your boss will consider that raise
you've been wanting

Jenny: yep..

Clay stares at Jenny for a moment, noticing the way her face fell as she looked at him.

Clay: What's the matter jen? You look a little off

Jenny pauses for a moment

Jenny: ...nothing

Clay: oh, alright, how's your sister? How's Kayla been doing at her new job?

Jenny whispers...

Jenny: Wouldn't you like to know

Clay tilts his head

Clay: Sorry? Didnt hear u hun, speak up please.

Jenny looks up and glares at her husband

Jenny: I said.. Wouldn't you like to know,

Clay nervously chuckles
Clay: I think you are a bit tired from work Jenny, maybe you should go upstairs and take a nap.

Jenny: Don't you dare tell me what to do! I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN CHEATING ON ME
WITH KAYLA, SHE IS MY SISTER! HOW COULD YOU.

Clays eyes widen

DO YOU THINK IM DUMB? STUPID? HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!!! Am I not good
enough for you!

Clay: I Would never do that to you! Are you kidding? Kayla! I wouldn’t cheat on you with her!
Who Told you I did that!

Jenny: Don’t you lie to me! Haven't you lied enough? I'm not going to tell you how I found out!
IS THAT SERIOUSLY THE FIRST THING YOU ASK AFTER I CONFRONT YOU! How
could I ever love someone like you, you are filth!

Clay: STOP IT JENNIFER! Calm down! You are overreacting! It was just one night! It was so
long ago, okay, I'm sorry! I won't do it again, okay! I love you Jennifer, I'm SORRY!

Jenny starts to grab her belongings

Just wait okay, I love you, I’m-I’m sorry!

Jenny: I can't believe this, you admit it! Everything has been a lie! My husband CHEATED ON
ME WITH MY SISTER!

Clay: I'm sorry! What can I do to show you how sorry I am!!

Jenny: I need space

Jenny pauses for a few seconds

ACTUALLY…..A DIVORCE...I never want to look at your dense pale face again

Jenny runs to the front door,

Camera shakes a bit to create suspense

Clay: wait… jenny…..but…

Clay trips as he runs toward Jenny, he hits his head hard on the counter and passes out cold from
the impact.
Jenny turns back after hearing a thud to see her husband on the floor

Jenny: Clay! Help! Help!!!

Camera Darkens

Act 4
Scene 8

2h later
Set in Busy hospital waiting room
Doctor: Your husband suffers from a brain bleed from hitting the counter top, because of the
extent of it, his brain was deprived of oxygen for 17 minutes. Unfortunately, this caused a
majority of his brain cells to die. I'm sorry to say your husband is brain dead. It is very unlikely
for him to ever wake up.

Jenny: oh..my..god

Doctor: If you are ready to talk about your options please let me know.

Jenny: I know what you are going to say, I do. Since I am his wife I get to make decisions for
him. I loved him so much even though he betrayed me in the worst way possible. Why did this
happen! What can I do?

Doctor: Well, If you wish to keep your husband alive, you could send him to a long care
treatment facility where he will rely on monitors and machines to live. Or you could let him go.
An excellent option is to donate his organs to others in need.

Jenny pauses for a while, thinking thoroughly about this decision.

Jenny: I could never afford something like a long term care facility, if I am letting him go, I will
donate all his organs, every last bit. Just...just give me the forms.

15 minutes later

Kayla walks into the hospital with tears forming in her eyes
Jenny: I can't believe you came! Who called you!

Kayla: Jen, I am so sorry for what we did, we didn't mean to hurt you

Jenny: my husband just died AND THE FIRST THING YOU TELL ME IS SORRY MY
HUSBAND CHEATED ON ME WITH YOU!

Kayla: calm down Jen! Everyone is looking at us! I have something important to tell you!

Jenny: No! First, my husband cheated on me then he just died! Dead! Gone! I feel like I have
been hit by a truck, actually I feel like I have been hit by a thousand trucks!

Kayla: He’s dead?! I thought he was just in the hospital!

Jenny: Who called you!

Kayla: The nurse! I am listed on Clay’s emergency contact list.

Jenny: What! Why?

Kayla: It doesn't matter okay! Listen sis, I need to tell you something really important.

Jenny: What Kayla! What could be more important than MY HUSBAND cheating on me with
you, and then DYING!

Kayla: I'm pregnant.

Jenny’s eyes widen in disbelief.

With Clay's baby.

Jenny: YOU LITTLE-

Suddenly the ground begins shaking rapidly

Camera shakes

Jenny: GET DOWN

Jenny and Kayla seek for shelter together
