SPELLING CITY

When I evaluated the Spelling City web site the subtotal of the scores were 96 out of 100, that score is excellent.

The content is perfect with 60 points out of 60. The web site was well organized with learning goals stated clearly.

The activities are student controlled, if the student does well the program moves on if the student does not do well

there is more practice before moving on to the next “higher level.” The spelling words are up to date you can go in

every week and see the spelling words for your school, very reliable. The copyright laws are visible right at the

bottom on the page, in the same place the references are provided. This web site has many students, teacher,

and parents logging in every day. When I start teaching I will have my 2nd graders practice in center time on a

smart board, there spelling words with spelling city. I would also, for myself look at what spelling words are good

for 2nd graders and use them for my spelling test’s, I give. The web site also got a perfect score on the design of

the whole site. The text is big, and legible with nice colors that go together. This web site really enhances learning;

I even use it when I need to make sure I am using a word correctly. The elements work properly it overall is a

wonderful web site. The navigation of this web site got 16 points out of 20. There are many web sites, in blue, you

can navigate to very easily, although I did not see a site map. This web site is great for teachers and students; it

says the words out loud, gives you the right definitions, and the right spelling for over 42,000 words.
DANCE MAT TYPING
The content, design, and navigation to this web site was great, every criteria got 100%. The web site was very

organized with every level getting more complex. The goals were repeated many times by the “talking goat”.

There is contact information provide. The information in not bias, but straight up learning the keyboard with

reliable information. There are references provided on the web site. The design of this web site is very fun with a

great choice of colors and characters. The text is very bold and highlighter with bright colors, easy to read. This

web site enhances learning on how to use the keyboard correctly. The navigation to other sites where easy to find

and always worked. There is also a site map available. The web site was very easy to navigate through you just

pick your level and start learning. I would use this web site starting in second grade; we use computers so much

now a day ‘s it is very important we know how to type correctly. I am sure when my students go to the computer

lab we would start off learning to type, so everything else we learn will come easier. This web site makes learning

the keys on a keyboard fun and easy.

LESSON PLANET
This is a great web site for teachers; if you have any questions about lesson planning, go to lesson planet. This

web site has wonderful content. It is very organized you can go to any grade and look at over 200,000 lesson

plans to get some great ideas. The students are always thought of on this web site, there are even state goals on

the web site. There is contact information on the site, the copyright laws comply, it’s a great web site. Everything is

up to date and reliable. There is some bias in the commits on the web site and a few grammar errors but not on

the actual web site, just the commits. A lot of teacher use this site there are over 200,000 revised lesson plans to

look at with a ton of commits on each. The design is really clean cut, with easy to read text. This web site

enhances the teacher and the students learning. The navigation was very easy and worked great. I gave this web
site a 98 out of 100. I am going to use this when I become a teacher because if the way I am teaching my

students is not working I need to find some new ideas, fast.

ABC TEACH
This web site is really helpful, you can make copies of anything your going to need for 2nd grade students, from

handwriting sheets to coloring sheets. The web site is great for teachers. This web site got a 93 out of 100 for

content, design, and navigation. The content was great, but it could have been organized better it was a little

confusing, maybe because there were so many links. The web site was all about students and the goals were

clearly stated in each category. The information was reliable and up to date with correct grammar and

spelling. Although, the web site could help any grade k-8, I just looked at 2nd grade. Over 80,000 teachers have an

account to get quizzes on ABC teach. The contact information was not very detailed there was a link you could

click on and then send an e-mail but I did not see a telephone number or an address. There were references and

the copy right laws complied with the web site. The design was great, I did not take any points off there, and

everything looked fun. The text was legible, the worksheets enhanced learning, and everything was working

properly. The navigation was a little overwhelming the links all worked but it was not so easy to get to where you

wanted to go. Overall this web site got an excellent rating from me. I will use this web site a lot when I start

teaching. Handwriting it always a though thing for students to learn and worksheets and practice is the best was to

get better, I’ll be printing a lot of handwriting worksheets. There are also worksheets that have pattern blocks, I

know in 2nd grade it is important you know patterns, I would also print those for my students
