Nowadays, some students prefer doing part time jobs during their studies. Do the
benefits of this outweigh the disadvantages?

The issue of undergraduates and post-graduated graduates having a part-time job has
grown in importance over the last decade. Some believe that students should not be
distracted from studies assignment by working part-timecasual jobs, as it decreases
academic performance, yet I personally, strongly disagree. This essay will argue that
gaining work experience during studies in university, gives a competitive advantage to
students later in life., using eExamples from the UK government and Oxford University
will be used to demonstrate points and prove arguments.

There is ample evidence that students tend to have difficulty with an academic
performance the moment they find a job. This is because in many cases students find
employment that is irrelevant to the field they are studying in while also being time and
effort consuming. For example, recent studies by Oxford University show that 40% of
students that who have half-time jobs, work as waiters, or baristas, etc and, due to lack of
energy after the working shift, they neglect university assignments and exam
preparations, which negatively reflects on their academic results. Therefore, it is
conclusively clear that having a part-time job during studies is rather distracting and,
hence, perhaps unnecessary.

On the other hand, the impact of having relevant half-timecasual work experience in the
chosen field of studies can be invaluable to students. This is why I strongly agree with
this position., as tThis is because students have an opportunity to decide whether they
want to build a career in this industry or not. It should be acknowledged that only
practical experience can provide a glimpse of the working environment meanwhile
allowing to gain useful connections/networking in the industry. For instance, the UK
government research suggests that 60% of the UK employees prefer graduates with some
relevant work experience and even betterit is highly looked upon if it the latter was
gained in their company. Thus, it is can be stated beyond doubt that part-time jobs should
be chosen wisely, as it they can provide a significant advantage in the future.

From the arguments and examples given, I firmly believe that gaining work experience
during studies, through working at in a relevant position half-time, is strongly advisable.
It could be predicted that the rate of working part-time students will not decrease in the
nearest future due to… .
In your last email, you said I can get further information about general writing task 1.
Can you please share more, as I struggle with time management for this task.
Task 1
Brainstorming 2-5 min – produce ideas
Writing 10 min – only write
Proofreading 5 min – correct mistakes

Actually, I write too much for both of the writing tasks. What I can do to control my
word count on the exam? As I lose valuable time by counting words or by writing too
much.

Also, please provide more information on what should I put in the end of formal and
informal letters (i mean "best regards", "regards', 'yours sincerely' etc)?

Also regarding the essay about Olympics, you said that to put "cultural value" in the
introduction and not discussing it in the body of the essay is wrong, but to write
"symbolic value" and not discussing it further is fine. How that works? What is the rule?
