Miss Saigon is a musical by Claude-Michel Shconberg and alain Boubil. The story tells
the tragic tale of a doomed romance involving an Asian woman abandoned by her American
lover. The settings of the plot is relocated to 1970’s Saigon during Vietnam war, and Madame
butterfly’s story of marriage between an American lieutenant and a geisha is replaced by a
romance between a united states and a seventeen-year-old south Vietnamese. It was shown to us
on January 23, 2020 via video clip. The video was obviously showcasing what happened during
Vietnamese war specifically on the story of the woman who’s willing to sacrifice everything for
her son. The story shows a soldier and a simple woman who lives in a society and is willing to
sacrifice everything for her son.

The story was told in a most wonderful manner, it really shows what the story wanted to
tell the world. When the video started it already got my attention because of the intense scene
they’re performing in the stage. The actors are the best. Professional is not enough word to
describe the entire performance. Everything looks so real; it is like you are really witnessing the
real that happened during its time. Everything little detail was smooth. Started from the sound
effects up to the acting that the actors did was an instrument to contribute to the whole shows’
mood. On the other side, their gestures, body movements say true about the emotions they are
trying to convey.

Overall, the performance was really perfect. Start from the production team, the director
up to the actors. Everyone was so into their job that they were able to make such a masterpiece. I
think there will be no other who fits perfectly to become miss Saigon other than our own Lea
Salonga.
