Let us reflect on this topic, by using questions 1 to 5 as a guide.

1. What observations have I gained in my reading above?


 I realized agriculture is important in our country and farmers
are the backbone of our society. They are the ones who provide us
all the food that we eat. As a result, the entire population of the
country depends upon farmer thus farmers are the most important
people in the world. And the problem facing of farmer are; The
major marketing problems faced by the farmers are too many
market intermediaries, Major constraints facing small-scale
farmers, Among problems encountered regarding use of
agricultural machinery and the small. And the aged of the farmers
is the overall average age of farmers was 53 years old, ranging from
50 to 59 years at the average age level in the three covered
provinces and almost the farmer is old.

2. Why is it happening that way?


 This is happening because of the major marketing problems
faced by the farmers are too many market intermediaries, defective
scales and weighing systems, illiteracy, lack of transportation
facilities, lack of storage facilities, lack of market intelligence, price
fluctuations and problem of produce collection., Major constraints
facing small-scale farmers: Poor and inadequate rural
infrastructure especially rural access roads, water, marketing
facilities, lack of rural electrification, poor communication etc. and
also the problems encountered regarding use of agricultural
machinery, high cost of equipment ranked first followed by high
fuel cost small size of farm holdings and high repair and
maintenance cost

3. So what? What do I plan to do as a future agriculturist as I apply


what I learned to what I will do?
 I want the improve the agriculture in our country, being a
student I can't do it by myself so I planned to do, I'll vote wisely
the President who have a prioritize in agriculture platform because
I learned the agriculture is important in our country and we need
the improvement of all about agriculture.

4. Now what? If I plan to do no 3, what do I get out of it?


 If we have the improvement of our country, agricultural
productivity is important in order to improve farmer incomes, and it
requires increases in yield, better productivity through the efficient
utilization of resources, reduction in crop losses, and ensuring that
farmers receive fair prices for output. And our country will be
abundant.

1. How will you help our farmers realize their dreams?

 I think we help the farmers to buy all food products directly


from farmers such as milk ,oil, grains, vegetable, eggs, chickens,
fish, rice and etc.., Shifting them towards indigenous
integrated farming.

Let's do the following activities:

1. Get an object that would symbolize the needs and aspiration of the
farmers. Why you have chosen such object?
 Aspirations of Filipino Farmers to have own a piece of land
Because farmers they need resources to grow food and also they
need natural resources, such as land, air, nutrients, water and
sunlight. Farmers themselves need energy so they can work the
land.

Assessment

1. Interview the following respondents: parents, students, and


farmers. Ask them about their idea of a farmer’s needs and
aspiration. Submit an article on the farmers needs and aspiration
based on the respondents responses. If possible, on-line interview
can be done.

 According to my mother, her aspiration to increase the prices of


palay and they need the help and support of government to
improve the agriculture and also it will helps to the farmers life.
