• Paris Agreement:
• a landmark agreement to combat climate change
for a sustainable low carbon future
• aiming to limit global warming to well below 2℃
preferably to 1.5℃, compared to pre-industrial
levels
• requiring all Parties to put forward their best efforts
through “nationally determined contributions”
(NDCs)
• Net zero pledges by 2050

work together" to achieve the 1.5C temperature goal set out in
the 2015 Paris Agreement.
• TREES: Leaders from more than 100 world countries,
representing about 85% of the world's forests, promised to stop
deforestation by 2030.
• METHANE: A scheme to cut 30% of current methane emissions
has been agreed by more than 100 countries.
• COAL: More than 40 countries - which include major coal-users
including Poland, Vietnam and Chile- agreed to shift away from
coal.
• MONEY: Some 450 financial organizations, who between them
control $130tn, agreed to back “clean” technology, such as
renewable energy, and direct finance away from fossil fuel-
burning industries.
• BEYOND OIL AND GAS ALLIANCE: This initiative to phase
out oil and gas is led by Costa Rica and Denmark. Additional
members include France, Greenland, Ireland, the Canadian
province of Quebec, Portugal, Sweden, and Wales. Associate
members are the US state of California and New Zealand.
• FOSSIL FUEL FINANCING: US, Canada and 18 other countries
plus 5 development institutions including the European
Investment Bank and the East African Development Bank
committed to stop public financing for fossil fuel projects by
the end of 2022.

• Infographic Style Concluding remarks
...The Stone Age did not end because of a lack of stone. It ended because
bronze tools became cheaper.

…The oil age will not end because we run of oil…but because of reliable and
affordable renewables…

…Until then, we just need to wisely manage oil and gas, the most important
source of energy in modern history… and at the same time we continue to
find ways to reduce emissions from oil and gas…
