INTRODUCTION

“I have to know me to grow me.”

– JOHN MAXWELL

"It is comfort that creates tradition. It is discomfort

that creates transformation. The average person
doesn’t know what he or she is capable of until
change affects him or her."

There is the story of a very wealthy man who had an

only daughter who was of marriageable age. He made
announcement for any eligible bachelor who wanted
the hand of his daughter in marriage to show up in his
estate for a special contest. On the proposed day,
hundreds of men from the entire region gathered,
ready to be the lucky one. The wealthy man came and
addressed the crowd thus.
"Welcome young men into my humble abode. I
believe you all know why you are here? I have a little
assignment for all of you, and whoever passes the test
will not only have the hand of my daughter in
4
Destiny Malpractice......

marriage, but also have a million dollars instant

reward. Come with me please"

They all followed him to an Olympic-size swimming

pool in his estate. He threw fresh meat into the the
pool and many alligators came to the surface to feast.
All the young men were shocked to see that alligators
were in the pool. The man continued his address.

"Well as you can see, this is a swimming pool, the first

man to swim from here and come out on the other side
alive will be the winner"
At this point, over half of the people left in anger, calling
the wealthy man a wicked murderer. Few others were still
around the pool weighing the options and dialoging. While
this was going on: Splash! Splash! Splash! They heard and
turned only to see a man in the swimming pool swimming
hard to beat the alligators and make it to the other side.
They were all too shocked to react, and before they could
come out of their shock, he was out on the other side
panting heavily.

They all rushed to meet him along with the wealthy man
who had a look of surprise on his face as he said:

"Young man, congratulations! You amaze me. I never

really expected anyone to go this far to have my daughter.
Well, you have proved yourself. Come with me to get your
5
Destiny Malpractice......

cheque for one million dollars while we talk about other

things.
The young man still panting heavily spoke out in anger.

"I don't need your money neither do I want your daughter.

All I want to know is which of you pushed me into the
pool?"

FULLY! WHO PUSHED ME? So he did not get into the

pool himself. Someone else deliberately or mistakingly
pushed him in. But whether he was pushed or not, if he had
not been pushed, he would never have realized he could
make it.
There is much potential buried in us which is dormant. We
have not allowed them to find expression, and once in a
while in life, we need a push to make it. This book is meant
to push you into the place of destiny fulfillment.

CHAPTER 1
DESTINY ABUSE
Until purpose is discovered, existence has no meaning, for
purpose is the source of fulfillment.
—DR. MYLES MUNROE

A destiny is abuse when it operate outside the original purpose

of the creator.

Destiny Malpractice......

CHAPTER ONE

IDENTITY CRISIS
There is no greater discovery than seeing God as the author of your
destiny.
—RAVI ZACHARIAS

“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being

alive without a sense of identity.”

- Erik Erikson

With the identity crisis plaguing man today, this

question, ‘why everyone should discover their life
purpose early in life’, becomes an urgent knowledge
every man should seek at all cost. Until a man knows
who he his what he can do will be hidden from him.
A lot of us struggle with who we really are, we are
stranger to ourselves, we sleep and wake up daily not
realizing the kind of person we are.

(John.1.19-23) - And this is the record of John,

when the Jews sent priests and Levites from
Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I
am not the Christ.
9
Destiny Malpractice......

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias?

And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And
he answered, No.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may
give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest
thou of thyself?
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the
wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as
said the prophet Esaias.

Life will surely ask you who you are before you can
make any meaniful impact, John the Baptist was
never confused about his identity, he express plainly
to the people who he was, " I am the voice of one
crying......" Your inability to define yourself makes
you eligible to human definition, people will define
your life according to their perception..

When you don't know yourself you will forever be

trying to look like other people, and the best of others
you can become is a photocopy.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”-Oscar

Wilde
10
Destiny Malpractice......

Can you see what’s in you? Do you know your

potential? Do you know that you are not just someone
born to consume resources? There’s a wealth of
potential in you.”
Don’t ever let anybody throw you away. You are not
an accident. When God looks at you, He sees things
that everybody else ignores. You are worth so much
that Jesus went to Calvary to salvage and reclaim you.
The Spirit of God connected to your spirit is the only
true judge of your worth. Don’t accept the opinions of
others because they do not see what God sees.

God looked at Adam and saw a world. He looked at

Abraham and saw nations. In Jacob, a deceiver, He
saw a Messiah. In Moses the mur- derer, God saw a
deliverer. Can you imagine looking at a stammering
young man and seeing the greatest leader in history?
Everything men have been saying about you are just
opinions. God is the only one that knows what he hid
in you. You are the only one in history that has your
set of abilities, nobody has your look, taste,
handwriting, fingerprint and voice. You are you,
never permit anyone to look down on what you carry.

11
Destiny Malpractice......

When God wanted fish, He spoke to the water. When

He wanted animals, He spoke to the dirt. When God
created human beings, He spoke to Himself. Your
identity is from God, that is why you can never
survive without him. Any life that tries to function
outside God will surely malfunction.

John.15.5 - I am the vine, ye are the branches: He

that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

12
Destiny Malpractice......

YOUR "WHY" MATTERS

Everything has a purpose but not all purpose is known
and when purpose is not known the abuse is
inevitable. Are you abusing your life? The greatest
tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a
purpose.

When you do not know the normal use (purpose) of a

thing you will abuse it. Abuse is actually gotten from
the words ABNORMAL USE. In other words, when
you don’t know why something exists then you will
abuse it because it is not being utilized or consumed
in the way it was designed or created.

Everything on earth has a design and if there

is a design there must necessarily be a
designer. No designer ever begins with the
design, he always has a purpose, and he does
a design to fulfill that intent.

In Structural engineering, they design structural

13
Destiny Malpractice......

elements to meet a required intent, usually to carry a

specific load capacity and to do this safely. Similarly,
the Ultimate Designer made everything to play
specific roles and at specific times.

But because something has a purpose does not mean

that its purpose is known. The major reason for this is
that purpose does not reside in a thing, it can only be
found in the manufacturer or the designer of the thing,
so if you want to find the purpose of a thing never ask
the thing, ask the manufacturer. It is the man who
made the machine that knows why he made the
machine. The machine does not know. If we define
purpose as the original intent for the creation of
anything and the desired result that made the creation
necessary, then it suffices to say that this original
intent is not in the product but in the mind of the
producer.

To find the purpose of anything we must look beyond

the thing to the manufacturer. If you want to know
why the 2021 Toyota RAV4 was made you do not
start checking the tyres, the engine or the seats, you
14
Destiny Malpractice......

should ask Toyota. If you ask your shirt or your

phone why it was made it will not be able to answer
you and that is because it does not know. Purpose is
only found in the mind of the manufacturer of the
product and not in the product. we cannot find our
why by looking at our what. We must go to the
manufacturer else we will interpret the product
incorrectly.

My question to you is; have you found the purpose

for your life, your spouse (partner), your children,
your degree, your education, your money, your
family? The list is endless.

If we do not know the purpose of a thing we will

abuse it. When men do not know the purpose of their
spouses, they turn them to punching bags- this is an
abuse. The meaning of the word ‘clothe’ is to cover or
to wrap, but when we do not know the purpose of
clothes, we will abuse them. This explains why some
wear what does not cover them and they call it
fashion and when purpose is not known, we work by
second; guessing, experimenting and end up using
15
Destiny Malpractice......

things for what they were not intended for. We

abnormally use them.

Have you found the purpose for your life or are you
abusing your life? For every abuse there is a normal
use. Have you found your normal use yet? Have you
found your purpose?

To find your purpose, start by finding your WHY

(always start with WHY)

There is a reason for everything, there is a purpose to

life itself. Until the purpose of anything is found, all
we can do is experiment. Are you living a purpose
driven life or you are still experimenting with your
life?

As we go through life, we come to some critical

moments when we are faced with challenges that raise
one of these 5 questions:
1-who am I? (Identity)
2-where am I from? (Source)
3-why am I here (purpose)?
16
Destiny Malpractice......

4-what can I do? (Potential)

5-where am I going (destiny)?
We can actually gloss over these moments or we can
stop and ponder the questions and its attendant
consequences for our lives.

Let’s focus on the 3rd question, Why am I here? Is

there a ‘Why’? What is it all about? Is there a purpose
to life?

As we said, If we do not know the purpose of a thing

we begin to guess and experiment. Is it A or B? Was
it to be eaten raw or cooked? Should it be worn left
first or right first? The question is; are you
experimenting with your life? Just going with the
flow and seeing what happen.

This is a horrible way to live. It is destiny

malpractice. You’ve only got one life to live and you
better know WHY before it is over. If there is a
‘Why’ you are sure going to be better of finding it.
Have you found your ‘why’ yet or are you simply
experimenting with life?
17
Destiny Malpractice......

When the purpose is not known the abuse is

inevitable and remember, the greatest tragedy in life
is not death, but a life without purpose.
A life without purpose is worse than death, it is a
tragedy. For this reason, God created everyman with a
purpose to fulfill. It is important that men discover
their purpose early in life before getting into marriage
union. So many men are making marriage proposals
and going to the altar without a clue of what their
purpose in life is.

A man without purpose does not know where he is

going. How can someone who does not know where
he is going to take another along. They both will end
up in the wilderness.

Destiny malpractice is a resultant effect of

unknown purpose, where life becomes a game
of chance.

A man without purpose will pursue different visions

18
Destiny Malpractice......

and goal, running in different directions,

experimenting with his or her destiny without
achieving anything. He will follow politicians, follow
musicians, work as a marketer, learn sewing, open a
small shop and desire to join the police. He will
eventually end in frustration. Every task will come
and go without fulfillment.

HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR

PURPOSE
Discovering who you were created to be starts a chain
reaction towards fulfilling your life assignment. When
you uncover a sense of meaning for your life, you
become aware of your unique identity as a human
being.
A life without a meaningful sense of purpose
function like an animal without common
sense.

This identity provides the basis for sense of personal

19
Destiny Malpractice......

value and worth as an individual.

This is what this book will help you discover, a true
meaning for your life, you will discover your true
purpose and move closer to discovering your
leadership potentials.

When you discover your reason for living, it produces

confidence which ignites a conviction in your ability
to achieve your dreams, you gain a sense of destiny.

Defining Purpose

Heb.10.7 - Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of

the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Purpose is the original intent or the reason for
which you were created. When you find your
why, the when, the what and the how will take
care of themselves.

When you discover your purpose, you act decisively.

You feel alive and make wise choices.
It creates a sense of discipline that helps you say no to
things that are not important.

20
Destiny Malpractice......

When God created man he purpose built man. For

instance a radio was designed to play sounds, like
music, news etc. Every necessary hardware was built
into it, to provide sound.
When trying to discover purpose you don't need to
reach on the outside to find it

Principle for discovering your purpose

1) Recognize the source of Purpose

Every human being was created by God. You must

recognize that we have been made in his image and
likenesses i.e. to be and function like God each of us
are here to reveal a unique personality of God.

2) Discover you are purpose built

Every successful product in the market was design to

meet a need. Take for instance, laptop has all the
necessary function to meet your need, how much
more a human being who was created by the Author
21
Destiny Malpractice......

of life.

Your eyes see, your ear hear, your nose smell.

Everything in our body has a reason for existence.
Therefore you exist for a purpose. You were designed
and finished with all the ability you could ever need
to accomplish your life's dream.

3) You were born to deliver something to humanity

Man created the car to make transportation easier,

then how much more the creator of the man?
You came here with something that humanity needs,
something that brings development and improvement
to human life.

4) The challenges and problems around you.

Someone rightly said that "problems gravitate to its

solution" i.e. you cannot find a car on the water or a
boat on the road.
Sometimes discovering purpose lies in the problems
22
Destiny Malpractice......

we face or around us. Leaders were ordinary people

who were placed or found themselves under
extraordinary, difficult circumstances that brought out
their potential, producing character that inspires
confidence and trust of others.
Anything that you see around you that is not giving
you joy is an indication to what you are born to solve.
For instance I hate bad leadership with passion, as
well as a life lived outside the original plan of God.

5) Discover your gifts

God created each person with a unique and inherent

gifts, abilities and talents that increase our leadership
effectiveness. When you discover your life
assignment, you can direct your gifts and talents into
the development and improvement of humanity.

6) What do you stand for

What do you stand for as person, organization or

company? Someone rightly said when you know the
why for living, you can face anything. It is your
23
Destiny Malpractice......

reason for doing what you do, that births passion in

your followers. When your reason for doing what you
do is not convincing, people won't follow you.

7) What are you passionate about

Passion is a great indicator for purpose. Apostle Paul

wrote the vast majority of the New Testament,
Michael Jordan has passion for sports; Michael
Jackson was passion about music, Christiano Rinaldo
is passionate about football. Passion brings a strong
emotional response, either positively or negatively.

What ignites your interest and curiosity

indicates passion. What activate your
excitement and pleasure? Purpose is directly
related to what you love to do naturally.

8) What kinds of people captures your attention

Is it actors, doctors, politicians, pastors, business

gurus, motivational speakers etc. Those who capture
your attention are strong indicators to where you are
24
Destiny Malpractice......

called into.

9) What will you do if you had to choose a profession

What profession would that be if the money was not

the focus? What could you do if you’re not afraid?

10) What do you want people to say about your

accomplishment

Everyone that comes into the world came with

something to offer to humanity.

25
Destiny Malpractice......

CHAPTER 2
DEPLOYING YOUR POTENTIALS

Deploying your potential is the porter to a life of influence and

impact.”

– CLARKSON O. ADEBAYO

26
Destiny Malpractice......

CHAPTER TWO

THE HIDDEN YOU

Matt.13.44 - Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto
treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he
hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath,
and buyeth that field.

Every creature created by God was created with a

potential inside of them…

However, potentials are not there to be passive or

dormant instead they reside in man as a gift in us to
serve a purpose in our world to many generations.
Although the end to the potential in us is to be
deployed, nevertheless there’s need to first
acknowledge the fact that within us lies a potential
that must be deployed to help impact lives and
destiny, because whatever is not acknowledge cannot
be discovered and utilized.

“The acknowledgement of the potential within you is

the starting point into discovering your potential”
27
Destiny Malpractice......

However, discovering your potential is not enough,

but your willingness and commitment to deploy it
through consistent nurturing and cultivation of these
potentials makes you a gift to many generations.

the purpose of God for us is that we use that which

He has given to us to change the world for God.

Most times we complain blindly about our state, and

fail to see that which is in our hands, it’s like a farmer
who is holding a hoe in his hands to harvest his crops,
but he is complaining about the hardness of the soil.
(2kgs 4:1-7)

See beyond yourself, see beyond your present

situation or challenge, envision what will become of
your life when you deploy the potentials lying
dormant inside of you.

Potential means dormant ability, hidden capacity.

Potential is every idea of greatness within you.
Potential is everything you can do but you've not yet
done. All you are capable of accomplishing but you
have not started.
28
Destiny Malpractice......

Our God is omnipotent, The word omnipotent means

All potentials so every humanity share in the potential
of God because we all comes from Him.

The container that host the potentials may not

be attractive but that does not undermine the
worth of the content within.

People are looking down on you today because they

don't really know the values of what this your
unattractive body is holding within. Those looking
down on you have no clue what you carry. Why the
father of David was seeing a small Shepherd boy God
was seeing a King.
Why the mother of Jabez was seeing a son that brings
curse and pain to her, God was seeing a Blessed man.
The greatest harm you can ever do to yourself in life
is to stop believing in yourself. You carry something
yet unseen on the inside of you

2Cor.4.7 - But we have this treasure in earthen

vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us.

29
Destiny Malpractice......

This man in the book of Matthew 13:44 find this

treasure and hid it. When you find your potential
wisdom demand that you hid yourself first and
thoroughly develop yourself, because your potential
at its raw state is not marketable.

To understand the potential of anything you must

understand his heritage. Like a manufacturer structure
his product to perform some specific functions so also
God structure us to perform what we are capable of
doing.
The ability of every product is always embedded in
the manual, Many a times people neglect the
manual and operate the product. This act is purely
destiny malpractice.
Whenever you try to operate a product outside the
manufacturer's mind which is the manual what you
get is malfunctioning.

When you operate your life outside God's

word you are involving in destiny malpractice
and your life will surely malfunction.

The manual of your potentials and all you are capable

of doing is the Bible. You will never know your true
30
Destiny Malpractice......

ability outside the scripture.Whenever you try to

function outside the scripture you will always
malfunction.
Your potential is not visible but that does not mean it
does not exist. Everything you see today in the world
is firstly an invisible idea in the mind of a man before
it becomes a reality.

The brother Wright conceived the idea of Airplane

before it becomes a reality.

The whole heaven and heart was embedded in God

before it became visible.

Heb.11.3 - Through faith we understand that the

worlds were framed by the word of God, so that
things which are seen were not made of things
which do appear.

To uncover our inner potentials we would have to

find out what God did to bring the invisible into
visible state

God Conceived everything first

How do you conceive what you cannot see ?

31
Destiny Malpractice......

Imagination is the is the key

Your mind is so powerful, it can be impregnated by

ideas.

Dr. Mike Mudock said "Our mind is the factory of

our destiny"

So whatsoever you imagine and believed with all your

heart is a potential that will soon materialize whether
it is good or bad.
That is why God advice us to give Him our hearts so
that His spirit can guide our thought patterns.

How Imagination Becomes A Reality

A thought in the heart of a man is a silent word, so a

word is an exposed thought and everything in life
start in a thought form.
So the process of thinking is a system of uncovering
an inner potentials. That is why ideas are truly the one
that birth the greatest things we see in history today.
God was pregnant with the universe before it became
a reality. Then God turn his thought into imagination
which birth ideas and he began to speak about it and
32
Destiny Malpractice......

actions followed immediately.

How far can your imagination go?

What I'm imagining today will determine where you

will see me tomorrow. God will never demand you to
do what He has not empowered you to do. A fish
never pray before it swim, a bird will never attend a
flight school. Everything you can be in life is already
unbuilt. All you need to do is to undercover it and
develop it. How far you can think is what will
determine how far you can go. Until you discover
God as your source, Jesus as your saviour and the
Holy spirit as your helper you will never be able to
live out your Full potentials.

I show you a simple way to uncover what

you carry ......enter the world of your
imagination and explore what you have
there.
Thinking alone can not help, you will have to rise up
and document your imagination and take action and
see how the whole world watch in amazement what
God input in you. Don't permit any fear in your heart,
33
Destiny Malpractice......

you can do more than what your eyes can see.

LIVING BEYOND THE

GRAVE

Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details
of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man
from another.

- Ernest Hemingway

Have you ever stopped to think about how you will

be remembered? I mean, when you are gone and
folks stop by your grave or sit around in the house
and talk about you, what will they say? On the other
hand, you might wonder if you will be remembered
at all.

Listen to any funeral sermon and you will

soon realise that what we value is not how rich
or how independent we are, how far we
34
Destiny Malpractice......

travelled or how much we hoarded. It is how

much we gave, how much we loved, how much
we were loved.

Each day you live are an addition to the history of

the world that next generation will read and form
their opinion whether you added value to the earth or
you were a liability to the world. Legacies are very
important to the overall summary of a man’s life
history. Paul the Apostle probably did not leave an
estate or money behind when he died, but his
writings are huge blessings to the Church.
Let me share a very humours story with you
A son was sitting beside his father's bedside; the
father is near death. ''Is that you, my son?'' the father
asked. ''Yes, father, it is I,'' replied the son. ''What is
that smell? Is mother making my favorite apple
strudel?'' ''Yes, father,'' said the son. ''Ah, to have
one more piece before I leave. Would you please
bring me a piece?'' asked the weakened father. After
a few minutes, the son returns and sits down next to
his father. ''Is that you, my son?'' ''Yes, father.'' ''Did
you bring me the strudel?'' ''No father,'' mother said,
35
Destiny Malpractice......

''The strudel is for after the funeral.''

You've not really lived if you die and the world
cannot feel your absence. Dr Myles Monroe point
out that the richest place in the world is the
graveyard, why? Because there were many dreams
there that were not fulfilled, many vision that never
becomes a reality, many President that never
becomes a president, many musician that never sing
a song.
They say you die twice. One time when you
stop breathing and a second time, a bit later
on, when somebody says your name for the
last time

Your legacy is what preserves your existence, the

question is what will you leave behind for the world
to enjoy after you are long gone, remember what you
and I are enjoying today in the world was the legacy
of someone. Imagine if Jesus never leave a legacy,
imagine if the disciples never leave something
behind, imagine if Mary abort the pregnancy of
Jesus, imagine if Thomas Edison never invent the
light bulb, imagine if Hellen Keller never sing those
powerful hymns. Think about your life, what will
you be remembered for, what will the world say after
36
Destiny Malpractice......

you are long gone.

You will never be in this world forever. 200yrs to
this time I'm very sure that everybody on earth today
including you that is reading this book will not be
alive again. It will be a colossal waste for you to die
and be forgotten. It is not your graveyard that will
make people to remember you, it is what you've
done that will preserve you.
The Bible says: ‘A good man leaves an inheritance’
(Proverbs 13:22). What will yours be? Start
investing in something meaningful according to
God’s definition. Money, properties and educational
achievements are good on their own, but they should
be used rightly to purchase your eternity with Christ
and to write a godly legacy about yourself. Let the
world remember you when you say bye to this sinful
world for being a faithful marriage partner, raising
godly children, building the Kingdom of God and
making your light burning for Christ.
All amiable and enduring legacies come with a price
tag. Moving beyond mediocrity will require daily
investment in the accounts of those who follow you.!

CHAPTER 3
WRITE YOUR OWN
HISTORY
Man is the master of thought, the moulder of character, and the
maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny. As a
being of Power, Intelligence, and Love . . . man holds the key to
every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and
regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.

—JAMES ALLEN

CHAPTER THREE

PIONEER A NEW FRONTIER

A new world awaits those willing to discover it. I

have always been inspired by the words of University
of Kansas Chancellor E. H. Lindley, who in the early
twentieth century encouraged students to “develop the
spirit of the old pioneers who were not afraid of new
problems,” and James E. Faust, who admonished his
listeners to “become pioneers of the future with all its
39
Destiny Malpractice......

exciting opportunities.

This takes faith, and faith can be risky business. The

world was built by people who were not afraid to take
risks. They were the pioneers who were not afraid of
the wilderness, the scientists who were not afraid of
being ridiculed, the thought leaders who were not
afraid of progress, the politicians who were not afraid
to challenge the status quo, the theologians who were
not afraid of being called a heretic, the slaves who
were not afraid of dying, the youth who were not
afraid of asking “Why?” or “Why not?” and the
dreamers who were not afraid to take action. If you
are going to leave the shores of the familiar in order
to navigate great oceans of success (Ps. 107:23–24), it
will take some degree of risk.

If you are going to realize your dreams and do

something great, pursue a degree, become a renown
business man or woman, build a leadership center in a
third world country, start a church, open a new
company, or establish a foundation dedicate to
educating under privileged children, you must accept
the fact that a degree of risk is involved. “What if I
fail?” you might ask. “What if you succeed?” is my
response!
40
Destiny Malpractice......

This is the difference between those who take

risks and those who play it safe: those who
play it safe operate from sight, and those who
take risks operate from vision.

In his celebrated speech “The Strenuous Life,”

Theodore Roosevelt famously stated, Far better is it to
dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even
though checkered by failure, than to take rank with
those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer
much, because they live in the gray twilight that
knows not victory nor defeat.

Many people have an “I want to” in their spirit, but

they allow fear toimmobilize them until it dissolves
into “I can’t” or “I’m afraid.” Dare to change the “I
want to” into “I must,” and “I can’t” into “with the
help of God, I will.”
(See 2 Timothy 1:7.) This kind of attitude takes
courage. It means that you have to move beyond the
self-imposed limitations and excuses.

General Matthew B. Ridgway said: There are two kinds of

41
Destiny Malpractice......

courage, physical and moral, and he who would be a true

leader must have both.

Both are the products of the character-forming

process, of the development of self control, self-
discipline, physical endurance, of knowledge of one’s
job and, therefore, of confidence.

These qualities minimize fear and maximize sound

judgment under pressure and—with some of that
indispensable stuff called luck—often bring success
from seemingly hopeless situations. And remember
nobody is just lucky everyone with a measure of
success work their ways into it.

If you were to critically analyze everything you do on

a daily basis, from driving your car, to eating your
meal, to walking on the road, each involves some
degree of risk. By changing your thoughts about
doing what you really want regardless of the
perceived risk, you set a powerful intention in motion.

You rise to the challenge of breaking free from

limiting beliefs and habit patterns that keep you stuck.
By choosing to change your belief about your right to
progress and prosper, you give yourself permission to
42
Destiny Malpractice......

succeed. By getting rid of self-destructive habits that

undermine your potential, you are able to acquire new
habits that foster new behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs.

By creating a no-excuse zone in your mind, you will

arouse the courage to pursue the life of your dreams.

Robert Schuller, one of America’s twenty-first-

century luminary pastors, asked,
“What goals would you be setting for yourself if you
knew you could not fail?”

Most people waste their time focusing on the

potential for failure. However, even though failure is
possible, keep in mind that failure is simply the
tuition you pay for future success. A similar question
you might ask yourself is “What would I do if I only
had a few months left to live?”

These questions should stimulate your faith and

inspire you to leap into your future. Taking those
leaps is the starting point of personal greatness.

John Mason said - If you never take risks, you’ll

never accomplish great things. Everybody dies, but
not everyone has lived.
43
Destiny Malpractice......

Potential is all you can be but have not yet become,

all you can do but have not yet done, how far you can
reach but have not yet tried. Vision is the catalyst that
ignites your potential.

Dare to look within to see your true potential, and

then shift your focus from what lies within to the
possibilities that are directly in front of you, then to
what lies months and years down the road. May every
lid and limitation be blown off your life. Don’t limit
yourself to what you think is possible. Push past your
current limitations and reach higher.

People commonly overestimate what they can do in

one year but underestimate what they can do in five.
Don’t sell yourself short. Take the long view. Head
for the far and distant shore by pioneering your own
new frontier.

GREATNESS IS NOT FOR

EVERYONE
We always read, listen and watch different people
44
Destiny Malpractice......

achieve great things in their life. We look at them and

idolise them. Wishing that someday we can be like
them.

For most of these people that achieve greatness, they

too were once a mediocre, an average, among the
crowd. They too once idolise the people before them
that achieve greatness and wishing to achieve great
accomplishments in their own lives. And they
eventually went on to achieve it. But off course, it
wasn’t a stroll in the park for them to get there.

The 10,000 hour rule

Malcolm Gladwell, through his book ‘Outliers’,

suggests that people that achieve greatness observed
the 10,000 hour rule — which refers to the 10,000
hour one needs to practice a particular skill or activity
in order to achieve mastery of that activity/skill.

To put this into context — if you spend 3 hours a day

practising an activity, it would take you
approximately 9 years to meet the 10,000 hour
threshold.

The Beatles did it. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did it.
45
Destiny Malpractice......

But they didn’t take 9 years to get there. They were

laser focus to their ambition and worked hours and
hours every single day honing their craft.

So do you still dream about becoming a world shaker

or (fill in the blanks with your dream)? Do you think
you can commit to that 10,000 hour mark? At what
age do you think you can reach there? Instead of you
wasting away hours doing unnecessary things, why
don't you commit yourself to productive activities.
Remember you don't have all the time to stay in this
world.

The best thing about dreaming is that its free and

there is no limit to it. But the problem with dreaming
is that it is usually influenced by the survivorship
bias. We dream about all the good stuff, but
selectively remove all the roadblocks that needs
overcoming to achieve that success.

With great power comes great responsibility You owe

your greatness to the world. You have a responsibility
to the larger public. Whether its to entertain, produce
or influence the masses. You have become a servant
to your audience and fans.

46
Destiny Malpractice......

This also means every step of your life is being

watched and judged. Constant pressure of other
people wanting your attention or scrutinising your
every little weakness. Even worse when you become
hyper-critical over your own self. Having so much
self doubt or going through depression after having
achieved a major goal in your life.

Some great names had these characteristics. Einstein

is one of the most brilliant minds in history having
discovered some of the greatest insights in science.
But he was an aloof person and had difficulty with
intimate relationship, evident by his failed marriage
with his first wife and the less than ideal with his
second wife.

John Lennon was one of the greatest musician of all

time. Together with Paul McCartney, they established
The Beatles and became one of the best known and
most successful musical collaboration in history. But
John was an addict. His friendship with Paul also
didn’t really last long. In 1970, The Beatles broke up.
This revealed to us that there is also weakness in great
people, but our weakness can be made strong if we
are connected to Christ.
At the end of the day, it goes back to what you value
47
Destiny Malpractice......

in your life. What makes you happy and content in

your life should be the most important factor in
defining your successful and fulfilled life.

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to

become great. So long you know that is what
you want.

NO GREATNESS WITHOUT A PRICE TAG

Price is the means of transferring, compensating for,

and exchanging value. The secret of every value is the
price that is attached to it. Price places worth on a
value. Price speaks of worth, and worth defines the
originality. Price speaks to the mind, thereby get the
mind ready for payment.
Every great thing in this world comes with the price.
There is a price of living healthy, traveling around the
world, and become a person of influence. Knowledge,
wisdom, and understanding all come with a price.
There is a price to be paid if you want to be in
custody of life’s secrets. There is a price to be a good
father. A price to be a good mother. A price to be a
good minister, Bishop, and Reverence, etc. There is
48
Destiny Malpractice......

also a price to be a good and effective leader. There is

a big price to pay to know God experientially. (Ps.
50:5) I pay a price to write this book that is blessing
your soul now.

Success is sweet but the secret is sweat

There is no greatness in life without a price tag,

advancement is impossible without sacrifice. James
Allen observed, " He who would accomplish little
must sacrifice little; he who would achieve much
must sacrifice much."
There is no shortcut to success in life, any available
shortcut is the longest cut to success. We live in a
generation that want greatness without paying any
price, we live in a world where young people want to
prove unnecessary points and this has led many to
occultism. To be great in life you need to shake away
every form of laziness and go after your dreams.

Don't ever sit back and take what comes. You have to
go after what you want in life. Hellen Keller said, "
Never bend your head. Hold it high. Look the world
straight in the eyes. " If you want success you must
seize your own opportunities as you go."
49
Destiny Malpractice......

I deeply agree with George Adams when he said " In

this life we only get those things for which we hunt,
for which we strive and for which we are willing to
sacrifice. "

While some people are originator of new records

and achievements, others are mere spectators and
record commentators.

Men with tangible landmarks would dine and wine

with the mighty. They make many friends, business
associates and maintain the right relationships.
Generally speaking, the world do not celebrate a
nonentity or an outright failure. Instead, they
celebrate successful people who have paid the price
tag of greatness.

Destiny malpractice occur when the price tag of

greatness is being avoided.

CHAPTER 4
MENTAL TRANSFORMATION

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the

renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

- ROM 12:2

CHAPTER FOUR

VALUE ADDED THINKING

"Whatever you believe is true, is"

- STAN BEECHAM

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:......

PROV 23:7

When the door to Africa opened for Western shoe

factories, it was an uncertain opportunity. The first
marketing agent sent on feasibility and market survey
to Africa was sent with great expectation but he
returned without positive result because everyone he
met in Africa was walking barefoot and should
remain so in his own opinion.

The second marketing agent that replaced him was

excited when he got to Africa because everyone was
walking barefoot and he saw it as a very lucrative
opportunity. He became the pioneer salesman that
was instrumental to the shoe revolution in Africa. One
major quality that distinguished him from his
52
Destiny Malpractice......

predecessor is what I call V.A.T – Valued Added

Thinking. His Thinking was Programmed to add
value to anything and anyone he came in contact with

What you believe about yourself creates your

world -your physical life is a photocopy of
your mindset.

Like the salt; believers are expected to add taste

(value) to anything or anyone they come in contact
with. So wisdom demands that as a true followers of
Christ we must make the necessary sacrifices to add
value in all spheres of influence.
Like the salt; believers are expected to preserve
whatever they come in contact with just as salt is a
preservative. A Success without a successor is a
successful failure; hence, the need for every true
leader to preserve what they come in contact with for
the next generation to enjoy.

Your mindset is what determines your success or

failure in life, your belief system is what create your
world. The factory of a man's destiny is his mindset.
Those with growth mindset found success in doing
their best, in learning and improving.
53
Destiny Malpractice......

If you think you can or you think you can’t, you are
right both ways because it is what you think that
matters.

Someone once said that the government can afford to

give every Nigerian one million naira each. Yes! It is
possible. But if every Nigerian is given one million
naira each, those who will still be poor will be poor.
While some are thinking on how to spend their
millions, some are thinking of adding value to their
millions in order to acquire the millions of others.
And before you know it, some few who have V.A.T
are counting their billions while those without V.A.T
have reduced to their hundreds.

It is not about how much you have but about

the value you can add to what you have which
can be money, opportunity, position, time,
people, ideas etc.

If your exiting a place does not create a vacuum, it

means your presence there was never valuable. You
don’t have a second chance to give a first impression,
so do all you can to add value to your generation and
54
Destiny Malpractice......

become a leader with V.A.T.

A new era has started in our nation and every

Nigerian has a part to play. Vision is purpose in
pictures. A clear vision ignites conviction in you that
causes you to act on your life's dream. This book is
design to help you capture your vision, maximize
your potentials and become what you were created
for.

VOICE PRINT YOUR VISION

Defining Vision

A vision is an idea by God. It is what God wants you

to contribute to this world. Vision is purpose in
pictures. A clear vision ignites conviction in you that
causes you to act on your life's dream.
Vision is a picture of where you want to end up. It is
the blue print of a finished product. Leaders keep their
hands on the process but their eyes are on the end
55
Destiny Malpractice......

result.

A visionary man can see what's down the road and

what it's going to take to get there. Visionaries are not
satisfied with what's happening, they are interested in
what's going to happen and they can make it happen.
Many people go with the flow, but
visionaries create their own flow. A
leader’s vision is more real and
important to him than the experience of
the present.

Are you waiting around for someone to discover you,

recognize your gift, offer you a position or promote
you? You have greatness on your inside, it’s time to
take responsibility.

Principles for fulfilling personal vision

1) Have a clear purpose

Your conviction in your purpose will produce a clear

vision, i.e. how you supposed to help the world.
When you pursue a clear purpose it ignites
56
Destiny Malpractice......

confidence. Confidence is an indicator you are on the

right track. Your vision must be plain to you, in other
to fulfill it.

2) Know your potentials

Identify those gifts, talents in you that will help you

accomplish your vision. Great men know their
strength as well as their weakness. You carry
something on the inside of you, explore it and bring it
out.

3) For the enhancement of humanity

If your vision benefits only you, then it is a private

ambition. True vision will always result in the
advancement, progress and development of humanity.

4) Develop a concrete plan

A vision becomes a plan when it is thought out

clearly and can be addressed specifically. Your plans
are broken down into chunks of achievable target.

5) Your vision should challenge the status quo

57
Destiny Malpractice......

True vision always defies conventional thinking i.e.

the usual way things are done. Leaders must be
willing to challenge traditions and experiment with
new ideas.

DEVELOPING A READING
CULTURE

In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books......

- DAN. 9:2

A wise man once said that where you will be in five

years time will be determined by two things:
The friends you keep and,
The books you read.
Another wise man also said, “If you want to hide a
treasure from a black man, hide it in a book.” This
is due to the fact that most people have a very poor
reading culture.
There is the need for one to develop a reading
culture if one desires to become a force to reckon
58
Destiny Malpractice......

with especially in this information age. There is no

doubt that we have a very poor reading culture in
this country and those who seem to have a reading
culture unfortunately have an unhealthy reading
culture because they read more of junks than good
and vital books.
I have come to realize that readers are leaders and
leaders are readers because a look at the stories
behind the glories we see reveals that.
Go to any rich man's office or house and see their
library and you will be amazed at how many books
and development products they have. Do you think
they became rich and decided to buy books and have
a library or as they were buying books, reading and
developing themselves, they became rich as a result?
The answer is obvious - The knowledge came before
the result. The procecess came before the product.
It is destiny malpractice to get result without
knowledge. Success without scares is Scary.

Why you must develop a reading culture

It is the pathway to greatness

59
Destiny Malpractice......

True education does not necessarily take place

within the four walls of a classroom. If you are not
informed, you will be deformed; if you are not
inspired, you will expire; if you are not updated,
you will be outdated. Reading opens you up to vital
information that will lead you to transformation.
Anyone that desires to be great must place a
premium on the acquisition of knowledge by
developing a good healthy reading culture.

The difference between the ruler and

ruled, the leader and the follower, the
successful and the suffering, the
prosperous and the poor, the teacher
and the student is most of the time the
information they have. If you have the
information people need they will in no
doubt submit to you.

It brings inspiration and motivation.

All through history, we have seen people inspired
and motivated through books both in a negative and
positive way. It will amaze you the dimension of
60
Destiny Malpractice......

inspiration you can receive when you give reading a

vital place in your schedule. Biographies and
autobiographies of great men have inspired millions
into their own dimension of greatness. You, no
doubt must have been inspired by some of the
books you must have read before and you can
imagine what will happen if you read more.

It makes you learn from other people

experiences.
A man that has passed through a route before will
know something about that route that you don’t
know. You cannot argue with the fact that you need
to learn from others who know more than you do
and have experience more than you have. Many
deceptively think that experience is the best teacher,
but it is better to learn from the experience of others
than to learn from your own personal experience. A
wise man once said, “If I have achieved anything
great, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of
those who have gone ahead of me”. When you stand
on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead by
reading their books, you tap into their wisdom,
knowledge, experience e.t.c. and that gives you
leverage in life.
61
Destiny Malpractice......

It sharpens your skills

Reading is to the mind while exercise is to the body.
Just as physical exercise keeps you fit and healthy,
reading is mental exercise that makes your mind to
become exposed, fit and fresh. It is vital
nourishment to your skills because it sharpens your
skills. Whatever area of life you desire to be skillful
in, make sure you read books in that field that is at
least equal to the number of your age. E.g. if you
want to be skillful in the area of investment, and
you are thirty two years old, make sure you read at
least thirty two books on investment.

It keeps you current in a changing world.

There is no doubt that we live in a fast changing
world. The world is now a global village, and
technology changes at a rapid speed. How else can
one stay current in this changing world except by
continually updating oneself to stay relevant! Many
become obsolete and irrelevant because they are not
current.
Continual reading keeps one current; makes one
62
Destiny Malpractice......

grow and takes the limit off one’s progress. If you

don’t read, you don’t grow and if you don’t grow,
you end up groaning.

Methods of Reading Effectively

1. Analyse your reading habit

You need to analyse and evaluate your present

reading conditions by asking and answering vital
questions.

Do you read at all?

How often do you read?
Do you plan your reading or just read anyhow?
Is what you have been reading beneficial to you?
63
Destiny Malpractice......

Is your reading limited to one area or diverse?

Your answers to these questions will help you get
started.

2. Create time for reading

To develop a reading culture, you have to schedule

time for reading, because it takes discipline to
develop this culture. If you are serious about
developing this culture, it will not be a matter of
having time but of creating time. If you don’t create
time for reading, you will never have time for it.
Discipline yourself to always read daily, no matter
how small. Set a goal for yourself and work towards
achieving the goal.

3) Balance your reading

Balance is the key of life. One therefore needs

balance even in the development of a reading culture.
You need to be current and versatile by knowing a
little about a variety of issues. Don’t limit your
reading to only one part of life.

4) Respond to your reading

64
Destiny Malpractice......

It is not just okay to read a book, it is also vital that

you respond to the book both physically and mentally.
To respond effectively to your reading means to
decide to act on and utilize the information you get
from it in a positive way.

5) Know what to read and what not to read

Thousands of books are published and released daily

all over the world, and even if you read one book per
day, you can never exhaust all the books on earth. So
it is very vital that you choose what you read. You
have to be discreet in your choice of book, because,
life is too short to spend on reading junks that are not
beneficial to your destiny.

6) Make a monthly trip to the bookstore or library

It is vital for you to visit bookstores and library

periodically so as to be current and aware of relevant
books and new releases. You need to do this so as to
peruse and review books.

7) Build / develop your own library

If any book is worth reading, then it should be worth

65
Destiny Malpractice......

buying. To develop a reading culture, you must rise

above only borrowing books to read, to buying books
to keep. Books are tools that come in handy from time
to time, and they are a good heritage to leave for your
children. Start building and developing a library now.

What keeps you relevant in a changing world we are

today is in the informations that are at your desposal.
When you are not inform you will be deform. It is
what you know that determine who knows you. When
you know what others do not know, you will be paid
to reveal what you know. Those who know rule over
those who don't know.

It is what you know that makes you known to the

world, so when you know nothing nobody will know
you.
