Dear
Lori VanDam
COO
Hult Prize Foundation
Lima.-

My name is Ronald Barzola, former Campus Director 2017/18 and Hult Prize Community Builder in
Peru since 2019. I write this letter to thank you for the opportunity of being part of Hult Prize
Community more than 4 years and let me organize the competition for the first time at National
University of Engineering, bringing the concept of social enterprises to my university, and then leading
this global movement taking it from 3 to more than 65 universities in our country.

What I achieved in Peru was not only a product of Hult Prize brand but also the local community and
all the experience with different movements like Techstars, Wadhwani, Seedstars among others.

Each year of this impact journey has been very grateful for the community in Peru as well as for
many campus directors and universities that were invited to solve the world's biggest challenges
through the million dollar startup competition. I want you to know that my core team and I have done
our best to spread the Hult Prize message to as many universities as possible in my country.

Although I would like to continue developing the Hult Prize community and be part of the redesign
and relaunch of the new programs, unfortunately my image and personal brand has been affected by
leading a movement that has not been able to properly handle communication.

These last weeks I am feeling a lot of pressure, and being just a volunteer I can not assume that
responsibility as if it were a job, so for the best of Hult Prize I prefer to focus on personal projects
without losing my north star of supporting entrepreneurship and innovation peruvian ecosystem by
continuing looking for international support and new stakeholders.

I want to end this letter reaffirming my commitment to social entrepreneurship and impact business,
so I am sure that in the future we can continue working together for a more humane and egalitarian
world.

Sincerely yours,

Ronald Barzola
