C. COMPREHENSION
1. What is the view of Islam towards woman?
Allah in the Qur'an explains that the position of women in Islam is the
same as that of men. Women are created as a partner for men not as
slaves or treasures that can be traded.
2. In what case is Islam considered more rigid and puritan towards woman?
Like today, woman are often forced by some groups. Like a woman who
cannot freely leave the house and exist in the public sphere. However, islam,
the perfect religion, does not confine women and does not allow them to leave
the house at all. Sometimes women need their presence outside.
Can, could, must, will, may, should, would, might are called
Modals in English.
2. Ability

She (will be able to) swim.

3. Permission
Can I
Could I leave this here?
May I
We use Can I etc. to ask for permission. Note that Could I and May
I are more formal and polite than Can I. We use can or may to give
permission: You can leave your bag here. (or may leave )
1. Request
Can you
Could you help me?
Would you-
We use Can you, Could you, and Would you, (but not May
you) when we ask someone to do something. Could and would are
more formal and polite than can.
2. Offers
I’ll do it.
Shall I do it?
I’ll post that letter for you.
