Instructions & Guidelines for Remotely - Proctored Online

Assessment

Dear Candidate,

For the Tests & Interview, follow the below mentioned instructions.

Candidates can take HCL’s Online Assessment in the comfort of their home while being
monitored by our virtually. Kindly read the following requirements, steps and instructions
carefully for successfully appearing for the Assessment

Please go through the below mentioned guidelines.

About the Test


• The test will comprise of 4 sections (English, Reasoning, Quantitative & Computer
Fundamentals)
• English, Reasoning & Quantitative sections will have 15 questions each for which you
will get 45 minutes to complete all 3 sections.
• Computer Fundamental will have 30 Questions for which you will get 30 minutes.
• You will get total 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the full test.
• You need to pass in each section to qualify the examination.
• There is no negative marking in the test, so you can answer all the questions.
• Please switch off your mobile and place on your desk
• In case you are getting any pop-up/virus on your system please inform the invigilator
immediately
• If you lose Internet connectivity at any point in test, do not panic. Continue attempting
the assessment. You will not lose time and your answers will be automatically submitted
once the Internet comes back
• If your system shuts down abruptly, don't panic. Your results would have been saved
automatically. Don't login again, first contact the invigilator. Necessary steps shall be
taken to resume your test
• Do not close the test window unless you complete and submit the test

What all an applicant needs?

• Laptop - Camera enabled with internet access with good speed


• Chrome or any Internet Browser for smooth access to Aptitude Test
• A quiet location with the applicant being the only person in the test room
• A rough sheet with pen/pencil for any manual calculation (Calculator or any other tool
is not allowed during the exam)

1. Computer, Browser and connectivity Requirements


The remote proctoring module needs the following system configuration and requirements.

The remote proctoring software streams the data, including audio and video, directly to the cloud
as you take the Assessment. In order to allow the continuous transfer of this data, you need to
maintain a minimum connection speed of 1 Mbps. We recommend you to verify your connection
speed using an internet speed test before starting the Assessment.

2. Steps to appear for the Online Assessment

3. Once you click on “Start Test”, a pop up will open and you are required to give your
consent for the use of Webcam by clicking on “Accept” button
4. Testing platform will check your system specifications. Read the instructions carefully and
click on “Start Now” button to proceed

5. Allow popup, if prompted.


6.Sit in front of your Web-Cam. Your photo will be auto captured after 5 seconds timer. In case,
photo is
not captured properly, you can re-click photo by clicking the button “Click Again” as shown
below. This step is very important as your photo will be used for verification purpose at the
time of interview/next steps

7. If your face is not clear in the clicked image, it will give anerror “Facenot detected” and you have
to clickagain.
8. Once your photo is captured properly, click on “Start test” button.
9. A pop up will open. Click on “Enable Full screen”.

10. Your Assessment will start in full screen mode


11. Please read instructions carefully and start the Assessment
12. There will be a timer on right hand top of your screen, as long as you are able to work
with your assessment, clock will move. In case of any technical issue, if you are unable
to work on your assessment, clock will stop and time will be added to you automatically.

Guidelines – Before the Assessment


• Candidates can write their assessment by using their Laptop / Desktop / mobile
phone(android). Webcam connectivity is a must during examination.
• Check ‘System Specification’ document and ensure necessary configurations
• Candidates are required to ensure that both Webcam and Microphone are working properly
• If you have a laptop but suspect that uninterrupted internet connectivity is questionable in
your area, it is recommended that you use your phone’s hotspot to provide either a primary
or a backup connection to your laptop.
• Google Chrome browser (latest version) must be installed in Laptop/Desktop/Phone.
• It is important to take ‘System-Check Test’ 4-5 days prior to the actual assessment day
• Candidates are advised to use the same Desktop/Laptop/Phone which is used for mock
test for the actual exam, so that any issues faced will have been experienced and resolved
in the System-Check Test

Guidelines – On the day of the Assessment


• Please sit in a quiet room with no background noise or people around.
• Ensure proper lighting in room – source of light must not be behind you.
• Please ensure the wall behind you has a plain background with no objects hanging on it.
• Plan to start your system on the test day 15 minutes prior to the schedule time. Start
Assessment on time, you will not be allowed to appear after the scheduled time
• For entire duration of the assessment, please remain seated in front of your webcam
• If you face any technical issue during the assessment, please refer to the FAQ Document.
If not resolved, then contact your placement coordinator via email/call/message from other
device
• Student should not indulge in any malpractice while writing the exam. Any malpractice
observed by the proctor will be recorded and will be filed against you which may lead to
suitable disciplinary action.
• If you are taking test from Mobile, then turn-off your message/call/App notification - If you
open your notification during the assessment, it will be counted as violation. After certain
number of warning, system will Logout your assessment.

Applicants appearing for HCL’s online Assessment must adhere to the following instructions.

Do not look sideways during the exam. Non-adherence of the same will lead to
cancellation of the Assessment after warnings.

For the entire duration of the Assessment, please remain seated in front of your webcam. In
case, you are found leaving your seat, your Assessment can be terminated by the virtual
invigilator.

Do not try to cover your camera or unplug
