CHAPTER 1- EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

There has been a growing demand for lip products for the past few years ranging from

lipsticks to lip and cheek tints. Our group has come up with a hybrid and exciting business idea

that could potentially earn profit and compete, at the same time. The name of our business is

entitled “Love, Aphrodite” which is inspired by the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty,

Aphrodite. The multipurpose lip tint is a product that has a different purpose as it could likewise

be used as an eye, cheek, and lip tint. This product has the purpose of recreating the goddess within

every human, especially women. Our business can potentially attract customers and can satisfy

their taste when it comes to boosting their own self-confidence by putting some colors using our

product on their faces because of their love for these types of products. Our marketing strategy

was derived from the 4P’s of marketing. We have incorporated different marketing strategies for

us to achieve our target profit and satisfy our target customers. Our primary strategy focuses on

the product and the feature itself. From the unique packaging, different flavors of tints, and

different shades that can match their skin complexion, these strategies can distinguish us from

other competitors.

The initial capitalization for the business is Php 105,120 good for a one-month expense.

Expected revenue for Year 1 is Php 275,760.00 while the total cost of goods sold amounted to Php

1,261,440.00.

Purpose of the Product

Love, Aphrodite Gel and Matte Tints aim to enhance the beauty of every Filipina. Our

product can also boost someone’s self-confidence because we believe that “Beauty is finding the

right shade”. Our main mission will be, dedicated to showing and improving the beauty of our

customers and our main vision is to be one of the best local cosmetic lines in the market that also

gives the best service.

Product’s Unique Features

Love, Aphrodite’s Gel and Matte Tints have three unique features. The first one is having

13 shades to choose from. Each shade suits every mestiza and morena. The second unique feature

of our product is that it is organic and safe for all ages. And lastly, it is more affordable because it

is locally made. Below is a sample of our tints.

Production Process and Controls That Will Be Used to Manufacture the Product

Below is the process of packaging and refilling of gel and matte tints.

PACKAGING

1. Create your logo design

• Produce a design that represents your product.

• Make sure that your logo will suits to your sticker label.

2. Create a sticker label design

• Put your logo and the name of the product or business.

• Design the label including the name of the shade of tints and the size of the bottle.

3. Print out your sticker label

• Print your label to a good quality of sticker paper.

• Make sure that the size will fit to the bottle.

REFILLING

1. Prepare the lip tint bottles.

• Wash the bottles with lukewarm water to simply sanitize it.

• Make sure that the bottles are dry after washing.

2. Fill each bottle with tints.

• Start refilling bottles with one shade to another.

• Make sure to separate every shade to avoid wrong sticking labels.

3. Applying sticker label.

• Check if the bottle is dry and clean.

• Put the sticker.

4. Packaging.

• Seal the bottle with roller and bottle cups.

• Avoid having a tint stain with the sticker.

The process of making the tints will be a guarantee in each of the steps in the production

process. The said process is not that difficult also, the steps are simple and just needed a focus so

that the measurements would be right. In making or designing your sticker label or packaging,

creativity is the main agent so that you will come out with a high-class design for your packaging.

For the refilling process, make sure that all materials are ready and the use of mini funnels to make

the refilling easier is a good help. Additionally, always make sure that you are filling the right

shade to its corresponding sticker label or shade name.

Distribution Logistics

Love, Aphrodite will at first work locally established and utilize web-based media (for

example Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Shopee) to feature different lip tint shades and actual

pictures of the lip tint items for ease of browsing and ordering. Any client will have the choice to

get the item from a particular zone (meet-up) or have it delivered at their accommodation, yet this

delivery choice will be thought of if the client ordered from Shopee. Meet-ups will be made every

Saturday at Santa Rosa Bayan and shipping of orders for the delivery option will be made also

every Saturday.

Regulatory and Other Compliance Issues

Love, Aphrodite will be registered as a single proprietor enterprise with the Department of

Trade and Industry Provincial Office. A Barangay clearance will likewise be made sure about

before it applies for a Mayor's permit to operate as a home-based business micro-enterprise. The

BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue), as well as the FDA (Food and Drug Administration)

registration, will also be done after getting all the necessary registration documents and permits

from DTI Barangay, and Mayor's Office. The General Manager, Administration, Sales, Quality

Assurance, Purchase, Production, and Research & Design will be registered with the Social

Security System.

ACCORDING TO AGE

Figure 1 shows the result of the frequency and percentage distribution of respondents

according to age. With a total of 200 respondents, forty-one-point five percent (41.5%) of them

are seventeen (17) years old, seventeen percent (17%) are eighteen (18) years old, thirteen percent

(13%) are sixteen (16) years old, eight percent (8%) are fifteen (15) years old, five-point five

percent (5.5%) are sixteen (16) years old, two-point five percent (2.5%) are thirty-seven (37) years

old, two percent (2%) are thirteen (13) years old, two percent (2%) are nineteen (19) years old,

one-point five (1.5%) are twenty-one (21) years old, one point five percent (1.5%) are thirty-four

(34) years old, one percent (1%) are twenty-five (25) years old, one percent (1%) are thirty-six

ACCORDING TO THE AGE THEY STARTED WEARING MAKEUP

Figure 2 indicates the percentage distribution of respondents according to the age they

started wearing makeup. Out of 200 respondents, thirty-two-point five percent (32.5%) of them

responded that they started at the age of fourteen to fifteen (14 to 15), thirty percent (30%)

responded that they started at the age of sixteen to seventeen (16 to 17). While fourteen-point five

percent (14.5%) responded that they started before reaching the age of twelve (12) and fourteen

percent (14%) responded that they started at the age of twelve to thirteen (12-13). On the other

hand, four percent (4%) responded that they started at the age of eighteen to nineteen (18-19),

three-point five percent (3.5%) started after reaching the age of 21, and one-point five percent

ACCORDING TO HOW OFTEN THEY WEAR LIP TINT

Data shown in Figure 3 is the percentage distribution of respondents according to how

often they wear lip tint. With a total of 200 respondents, forty- seven percent (47%) of them are

wearing lip tint occasionally, twenty-one-point five percent (21.5%) responded that they are

wearing lip tint every day. On the other hand, nine percent (9%) of them are wearing lip tint every

other day and seven percent (7%) are wearing lip tint a few times a week. Meanwhile, six-point

five percent (6.5%) responded that they are wearing lip tint once a week, four-point five percent

(4.5%) are wearing lip tint a few times a month, three percent (3%) responded that they never wear

lip tint, and one-point five percent (1.5%) responded that they wear lip tint once a month.

ACCORDING TO THE SHADE THEY PREFER

Figure 4 illustrates the percentage distribution of respondents according to the shade they

prefer. Out of 200 respondents, sixty-four-point five percent (64.5%) of them responded that they

prefer lighter shades while thirty-five-point five percent (35.5%) responded that they prefer darker

shades.

ACCORDING TO THE TYPE OF TEXTURE THEY GO FOR

Figure 5 shows the percentage distribution of respondents according to the type of texture

they go for. With a total of 200 respondents, sixty-six percent (66%) of them responded that they

go for the matte texture. On the other hand, thirty-four percent (34%) responded that they go for

the glossy texture.

ACCORDING TO THEIR PREFERRED TYPE OF LIP TINT FORMULA

Data shown in Figure 6 is the percentage distribution of respondents according to their

preferred type of lip tint formula. Gel type of lip tint formula got thirty-nine percent (39%) of

responses, Creamy type of lip tint formula got twenty-seven percent (27%) of responses, Water

has twenty-four-point five percent (24.5%) of responses, and Oil type of formula got nine-point

five percent (9.5%) of responses out of 200 respondents.

ACCORDING TO THEIR PREFERRED SHAPE OF TUBE (SQUARE OR ROUND)

Figure 7 implies the percentage distribution of respondents according to their preferred

shape of tube whether it is square tube or round tube. With a sum of 200 respondents, seventy-

four-point five percent (74.5%) responded that they prefer round tube while twenty-five-point five

percent (25.5%) responded that they prefer square tube.

Data shown in Figure 8 are the percentage distribution of respondents according to their

preferred type of applicator. Out of 200 respondents, fifty-eight percent (58%) of them prefer a

soft brush applicator while forty-two percent (42%) of the 200 respondents prefer a roller type of

applicator.

ACCORDING TO THEIR LIKENESS OF SCENTED LIP TINT

The percentage distribution of respondents according to their likeness of scented lip tint

are shown in Figure 9. Out of 200 people who responded to the survey, seventy-one-point five

percent (71.5%) answered "yes" which means that they like scented lip tints. Meanwhile, twenty-

three-point five percent (23.5%) answered that the scent of the lip tints does not matter to them.

On the other hand, five percent (5%) responded "no" which means that they do not like scented lip

tints.

ACCORDING TO THEIR PREFERRED SCENT OF THE LIP TINT

Figure 10 shows the percentage distribution of respondents according to their preferred

scent of the lip tint. This figure shows that out of 200 respondents, thirty-nine-point five percent

(39.5%) prefer a Vanilla scent, while thirty-eight-point five percent (38.5%) of them prefer a

Strawberry scent. Oppositely, eighteen percent (18%) of the respondents prefer a Cherry scent,

one-point five percent (1.5%) prefer a Bubblegum scent and one percent (1%) responded that they

do not want any scent on their lip tint product. Meanwhile, zero-point five percent (0.5%) prefer

an Efficascent, zero-point five percent (0.5%) prefer anything sweet and zero-point five percent

(0.5%) prefer a Lavender scent.

ACCORDING TO THE CHARACTERISTIC THAT THEY SPECIFICALLY LOOK ON

A LIP TINT PRODUCT

Data shown in Figure 11 is the percentage distribution of respondents according to the

characteristic that they specifically look on a lip tint product. Sixty-seven percent (67%) answered

Figure 12 illustrates the percentage distribution of respondents according to their preferred

design of packaging. Forty-nine-point five percent (49.5%) of the 200 respondents answered that

they prefer a minimalist design, while there are eighteen percent (18%) of them who responded

that they prefer a casual design. Meanwhile, fifteen percent (15%) responded that they prefer an

elegant packaging design, ten-point five percent (10.5%) of them responded that they prefer a

charming design, six-point five percent (6.5%) of the respondents answered that they prefer a

nostalgic design, and zero-point five percent (0.5%) responded that packaging design does not

100, while thirty-five-point five percent (35.5%) are willing to spend Php 90 to Php 100, and

twenty-three-point five percent (23.5%) of them are willing to spend Php 60 to Php 80.

Figure 15 represents the percentage distribution of respondents according to their

willingness to recommend our business to others. With a total of 200 respondents, ninety-five-

point five percent (95.5%) responded that they would recommend our business to others and four-

point five percent (4.5%) responded that they would not.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

1. Most of the respondents started wearing make up at the age of fourteen to fifteen (14 to 15)

that is why makeups are in demand to most of the teenagers.

2. Forty-seven percent (47%) of the respondents only wear makeups occasionally.

3. Most of the respondents prefer lighter shades than the darker shades.

4. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of the respondents prefer a gel type of lip tint formula.

6. Seventy-one percent (71%) of the 200 respondents like scented lip tints specifically, most

of them prefer a Vanilla scent.

7. Sixty-seven percent (67%) of the respondents look more of the quality in a lip tint product.

8. Forty-nine-point five percent (49%) of the respondents prefer a Minimalist design of the

packaging.

9. Forty-one percent (41%) of the respondents are willing to buy our product at a price higher

than Php 100 through cash on delivery as a mode of payment.

10. Ninety-five-point five percent (95%) of the respondents responded that they are willing to

recommend our business to others.
