    In the third week, the milling machine section consisted of 3 workers. Their supervisor ordered them to make helical gear teeth on 30 workpieces per day using a horizontal milling machine. They performed gear teeth cutting. Issues encountered included breakage from taking too large of a cut per tooth, vibration from an unsecured workpiece or incorrect feed and speed, and chip compaction which could be addressed by using a tool with fewer flutes or increasing the helix. Learning to properly use a dividing head was noted as a new interesting skill.
