Time of Activity: 8:00am
Objective: Meet with PLC teams to discuss data collection and analysis
LKES Met: 4 and 8
Description of Task: I met will all PLCs to engage in discussion on data collection methods
and analysis. We looked at formative assessment data from the math
department and looked for trends in the data.

___________________________PART II: ARTIFACT REFLECTION_________________________

Date of Reflection: 10/23/21

Time of Reflection: 8:00pm
Goal: My goal was to gain experience leading discussion over data as well as
learn about analyzing data in different subject areas.
Level of Involvement: I was involved both leading and participating in the discussion about
the data and the possible causes for the trends that were noticed.
What I Learned: I learned what data collection and analysis might look like in different
subject areas, like ELA and Science. I also learned how to better
conduct and manage a PLC meeting. I learned how to better facilitate
discussion without allowing the group to get off task or lose focus.
Strengths and/or Challenges: It was challenging due to the different subject areas, several of which
I have very little experience. I am strong communicating with my
colleagues, which was helpful in this situation.
Response of Others: The others were receptive of my prompts for discussion. They were
happy to share with me their own methods of data collection. The
math department in particular was gracious in allowing us to look at
their data that was collected and hypothesize on the patterns we
observed.
Benefits/Contributions: I benefited from the experience greatly. It was one of my first
experiences in PLC meetings that were not my own department. I was
able to contribute in the discussion without being overpowering. I was
able to prompt the discussion and then step in only when needed.

Further Efforts: We will continue to look at data in our PLC teams. In future
department meetings we will be able to gather and analyze data from
other departments so to broaden our perspectives on how data can be
gathered. We will also add to the discussion different ways in which
people use the patterns they see to inform their own teaching.
