Assignment Brief and Guidance:

Data and information are core to any organizational business process. Meaningful information is a
necessity to drive profitable business actions. The concept of Business Intelligence (BI) has
evolved through technologies such as Decision Support Systems (DSS) to a number of tools,
technologies, architectures and methods which involves data cleaning, data integration, data
mining, data evaluation and data representation. Hence BI can be identified as a software suite of
software and services to transform data into actionable intelligence and knowledge.

Scenario
Select any organization of your choice and assume that you are recently recruited as an
Associate Business Analyst to study organization’s current performance. Your job is to study
the systems currently in place to support the business processes in the organization and suggest
how Business Intelligence tools can be applied to improve the current situation. You are
required to prepare a report to be submitted to the Board of Directors covering the following
tasks.

Task 1
1.1. Examine business and supporting processes of the chosen organization and
differentiate between unstructured and semi structured data with examples.
1.2. Evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of using application software as a mechanism
to support the business processes in the organization.

Task 2
2.1. Compare with examples, the systems currently available to support decision making
process at different management levels of the organization and suggest information systems
/ technologies that can be implemented to enhance the decision-making process.
2.2. Determine what business intelligence is and select one business intelligence tool to be
implemented to the organization. Justify your selection with reference to the functionalities
of the suggested tool.
Task 3
3.1. Design a functional interface to one of the processes that support decision making of the
suggested BI tool in task 2.2. Critically review the design and evaluate how it meets the
specified business or use requirement.
3.2. Based on the review, identify the customizations required to the initial design. Customize
the functional interface to ensure it meets the user requirements.

Task 4
4.1. Research the competitors of the chosen organization and discuss how they have used
business intelligence tools to make decision making process more effective and improve the
overall performance of the organizations.
4.2. Sharing data within the organization through a BI tool can raise legal, ethical and
professional concerns. Explore the legal issues that may result when using business intelligence
tools (Eg: Data protection laws, Cyber security, etc.) and evaluate how the chosen
organization and extend the target audience / gain a competitive advantage by securely
exploiting Business Intelligence tools.

Introduction

The following report is based entirely on research. I was free to choose any public business
organization that regularly publishes revenue reports in Sri Lanka on their website. After much
exploration and exploration, I came to choose Sri Lanka Dialog Axiata PLC, one of the top
networks around Sri Lanka. The following report contains some details about the business
intelligence and decision-making support systems along with the complete history and activities of
the company I selected.

Task 01

LO1) Discuss business processes and the mechanisms used to support business
decision-making.

Examine, using examples, the terms ‘dialog axiata plc Business Process’ and
‘Supporting Processes’.

Background of Sri lanka dialog axiata plc

Dialog is Sri Lanka's leading mobile service provider. Sri Lanka's mobile industry is one of the most
competitive markets in the region, with five operators competing for a total population of 21.7
million, and competition between the five operators, Dialog, Mobitel, Etisalat, Airtel and Hutch, is
expected to remain high for many years to come. in front of.

They are a hospitable team that serves Sri Lankans around the world and therefore marketing
management relationships are essential. More than most companies lend. To be effective people,
people need to build relationships in their personal and professional lives. Two important factors
need to be understood in order to build a relationship: First, a sustainable relationship benefits both
parties; Second, communication is the only tool for building and maintaining relationships. This is
undisputed in personal relationships, but the same applies to professional factors. The relationship
between the parties is complex and it will take a long time to 'get it right'. By understanding which
stakeholders are important and the information that best meets their needs as well as how to best
deliver the needs of the organization, it is possible to minimize some of the inherent difficulties in
communication and thereby help to improve the business.

The respective VISION and the MISSION of the company

1.2 Business process

Figure 2 Business process

Source: (Freshcodeit.com, n.d.)

A business process is a collection of relevant tasks that find the end of delivering a service or product
to a client. A business process is defined as a set of activities and tasks that accomplish an
organizational goal once it is completed. The process should include clearly defined inputs and a
single output. These inputs are made up of all the factors that directly (indirectly or indirectly)
contribute to the added value of a service or product. These factors can be classified as management
processes, operational processes and support business processes.
Management processes control the performance of an organization's operating system. Operations is
the core business. Supporting processes such as human resources and accounting are implemented
for basic business processes.

Since the conception of Adam Smith in 1776, the definition of the business process and the
development of this definition have led to fields of study such as operational development,
operational management, and the development of various business management systems. These
systems have created an industry for BPM software, which seeks to automate process management
by connecting various process actors through technology.

Type of business process

Moments before companies are formed, the business processes of companies with workplaces, time
tracks, and staff schedules begin to take effect. Any business process starts with the idea of
developing an activity system and a functional structure.

The business process begins with a customer interview and ends when the customer is satisfied with
the product or service. The purpose of describing business processes is to look at the issues and gaps
that lead to work and confusion in different sectors of the company.

There are three types of business-processes:

Management: Business processes that manage the performance of a system. Corporate management
or strategic management can be examples of this type. A time tracker can play a supporting role in
managing business processes.

Operations: The main business of a company and provides the basic income flow businesses
processes. The time tracker acts as a controller in this process. Examples of manufacturing,
marketing and sales operations business processes.

Support: Business processes that serve the core business. For example, accounting, human resource
management, technical support. Time tool is a key tool for human resource management. In addition,
scheduling software can be integrated with accounting software and technical support services to
optimize the company's business operations.

Important of business process management

In such a dynamic technology market, business leaders are influenced to stay competitive and
improve productivity by reducing costs and improving business processes. To overcome these
challenges, many organizations are focusing on the potential benefits of Business Process
Management (BPM) software, such as improved operational efficiency, improved customer service,
and improved product and service innovation.
BPM software is important because it enables organizations to gain a competitive advantage by
assisting business leaders to improve organizational performance by analyzing, designing, executing,
controlling and modifying operational business processes. It also helps managers and CEOs to
measure, respond and control all operations and apply IT solutions directly to them. If a BPM system
is not operational, BPM solutions help to coordinate staff activity enhancement by automating staff
day-to-day workforce manual.
Implementing a BPM solution for your organization will help business leaders respond quickly to
challenges and opportunities and make the right decisions for overall company growth.
BPM is often used in conjunction with BPM software to optimize business processes, including Lean
and Six Sigma, which are continuous process improvement (CPI) methods. BPM can act as a catalyst
to accelerate the Lean and Six Sigma system, and enhance business efficiency and profitability by
improving business processes with three main components: agility, efficiency, visibility and
efficiency.

Agility
Adapting business processes to new conditions is increasingly important, especially as the business
environment is constantly changing. BPM software helps to speed up business processes through a
framework that requires strict documentation of process steps. This rigidity of BPM technology
helps to provide a clear understanding of every step of the workflow process.
This kind of detailed knowledge helps organizations to understand the impact they can have on their
processes. An organization that understands the impact that changing its business processes can have
on an organization's profitability is better equipped to adapt to sustainable change and can deploy the
best possible option quickly.
Visibility
BPM uses state-of-the-art software programs to automate processes, monitor business activities, and
reveal information about how business processes work in real time. Process automation shows how
the process works without labor intensive manual monitoring techniques. This large transparency
allows management to better understand the processes they monitor, to detect their effects, and to
directly change the structure and flow of processes.
Efficiency

You can find businesses that implement BPM software to increase productivity and reduce
productivity. Consequences of the benefits of BPM technology include determining how the process
operates under optimal conditions, adapting the process to high performance, and allowing
controllers to monitor the future performance of the process. BPM software helps to increase activity
productivity by minimizing errors and redesigns by removing redundancies and automating tasks. As
business leaders experience more pressure to improve business processes, the importance of this
technology also increases when it is realized that BPM software can be used to meet and enhance
business efficiency and Lean & Six Sigma efforts.
BPM's transparency and activism to improve processes enables companies to monitor their current
operations, make necessary changes to maximize product production productivity and profitability,
and align business processes with business objectives.

Evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of using application software as

a mechanism for business processing.
The various packages include enterprise resource planning, human resource management, customer
relationship management, supply chain management, and external software commercial applications.
These different types of application packages are intended to be used for different businesses and are
tailored to the needs of individual industries.
ERP software is a commonly used application package. An integrated system that allows companies
to control everything that happens in the business. These types of packages are available for a variety
of industries and can be configured to meet specific requirements.
Both human resources and customer management application packages are important in the settings
that customers have to deal with. Human resource packages allow employees to manage and
customer service packages allow customers to manage and make their purchases. These types of
packages are also bundled with existing supply chain packages. The more customers buy, the more
products and supplies the company has to supply. When there is a high demand for supplies, there
should be more employees managed by human resources packages.
Source: (Reference.com, n.d.)

Advantages
Their only big advantage is that they meet the real needs of the user. Because they are specifically
designed for one purpose, the user knows that they need to use one specific piece of software to do
their job.
Custom-made applications minimize the threat of viruses invading, thus restricting access to any
business that may be involved and protecting their network.
For security reasons, the licensed application receives regular updates from the developer. In
addition, the developer regularly sends teams to resolve any issues that may arise from time to time.
Any problem can be solved

Disadvantages
Developing application software designed to meet specific objectives can prove to be quite costly for
developers. This affects the organization's budget and their revenue stream, especially if it takes a
long time to develop software that is generally unacceptable.

Some software designed specifically for a business is not compatible with other generic software.
This is something that can prove to be a huge hindrance for many corporations.

They take a long time to develop and require constant communication between the developer and the
customer. This delays the entire production process and can sometimes prove harmful.

Applications that are widely used and then shared over the Internet pose a real threat of being
infected by software, computer viruses, or other malicious programs.

Compare the types of support available for business decision-making at varying levels
within an organization.

Introduction to Decision-making and Business management levels

Long-term decisions affecting the company as a whole belong to the highest management levels,
while decisions affecting day-to-day operations fall to bottom management. All decisions relate
directly or indirectly to broader management functions: planning, organizing, leading, staffing and

Responsible Decision-making at Sri Lanka dialog axiata PLC

Sri Lanka dialog Axiata PLC seeks to effectively influence and guide executives, workers, and
various partners in activities that are important for maintaining confidence in the company's integrity
while effectively advancing the business ethics and employee code of conduct ethical and credible
decision making. Demonstrate group commitment to ethical practices.Different levels of
management can determine the command chain within an organization as well as the size of the
authority earned by all management positions and the decision-making influence in general.A
business can have different levels of executives. Management levels refer to the difference between
different administrative positions in a business entity. Management levels depend on its size, specific
offices and scope of feedback. The real criticisms of the levels are that they explain the authoritarian
relationship of a business.

Considering the importance and commitment of management, we can distinguish three levels of
management in particular:

1. Administrative, managerial, or top level of management

2. Executive or middle level of management
3. Supervisory, operative, or lower level of management
Administrative, managerial, or top level of management

Director of the Board of Management level of organization and management consists of the CEO
or Director. It is the ultimate source of power and authority as it oversees the objectives, policies
and procedures of a company. Their top priority is strategic planning and implementing overall
business success.

High level management roles and responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

1. Enterprise Objectives and Comprehensive Policy Formulation.

2. Issuing necessary instructions to prepare special budgets, schedules and action plans of
the department.
3. Formulation of strategic plans and policies for the organization.
4. Appointing executives for mid-level management, i.e. departmental managers.
Establishing controls in all corporate departments.
5. As it has a board of directors, a high level of management is also responsible for
communicating with the outside world and the shareholders of the organization are
responsible for the operation of the business.
6. Overall guidance, guidance and encouragement of unity and cooperation.

Executive or middle level of management

Branch and departmental managers form this central management level. These individuals are
directly responsible to top management for the performance of their departments and devote
more time to organizational and directional tasks. For small organizations, there is often only one
level of mid-level management, but large businesses can see the senior and junior levels at this
mid-level.

The roles and responsibilities of mid-level management can be summarized as follows

1. Implement the organization's plans in accordance with the policies and regulations set out
at the highest management level.
2. Develop plans for sub-units of the organization they oversee.
3. Participate in lower level management recruitment and training activities.
4. Interpretation and interpretation of policies from top level management to lower
level management.
5. Sending reports and data to top management in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Evaluate the performance of junior managers.
7. Encourage lower level managers to improve performance.
Supervisory, operative, or lower level of management

This level of management consists of supervisors, foremen, divisional officers, superintendents and
all other executives whose duties must largely coincide with the direction of human resource
supervision and operations personnel. Simply put, lower level managers are primarily concerned
with activating and coordinating the day-to-day workflow that ensures project completion.

1. Assigning jobs and tasks to different workers.

2. Guiding and advising workers on day-to-day activities.
3. Monitoring both the quality and quantity of the product.
4. Maintaining good relationships within the lower levels of the organization.
Act as intermediaries by communicating employee issues, suggestions and recommended appeals to
a higher management level and on the other hand explaining higher level goals and objectives to
employees.

1. Helping to resolve and resolve workers' grievances.

2. Supervise and direct their subordinates.
3. Participate in the process of recruiting and training their employees.
4. Organizing materials, machinery, tools and resources required to perform
organizational functions.
5. Preparation of periodic reports on the performance of employees.
6. Maintaining discipline, decoration and unity in the workplace.
7. Improving the overall image of the enterprise due to the relationship with the
employees. (SpriggHR, 2020)

Support available for business decision-making at varying levels within an organization.

Operational management level

The level of operation is concerned with the day-to-day business transactions of the organization.
Examples of users at this management level include cashiers at a point of sale, bank negotiators,
hospital nurses, and customer service staff. Users at this level make structural decisions. This means
that the rules that guide them in making decisions are defined.
For example, if a store sells goods on credit and they have a credit policy that limits borrowing. It is
up to the salesperson to decide whether or not to lend to a customer.

Tactical management level

These organizational levels are dominated by mid-level managers, department heads, supervisors,
and so on. Users at this level usually monitor users' activities at the operational management level.
Tactical users make semi-structured decisions. Decisions are based in part on guidelines and
judgment calls. For example, a tactical manager may examine a customer's credit limit and payment
history and decide to make an exception to increase the credit limit for a particular customer. This
decision is partly structured because the strategic manager must use existing information to identify a
payment history and the higher percentage allowed to benefit the firm.

Strategic Management Level

This is the most senior senior level in an organization. Users at this level make non-structural
decisions. Senior level managers are concerned about the level of long-term planning organization.
They use information from strategic managers and external data to guide them in making non-
structured decisions.

Justify, with specific examples, the key features of business intelligence functionality.

Introduction to business intelligence functionality

BI (Business Intelligence) is a set of processes, architecture and technologies that translate raw data
into meaningful information that leads to profitable business operations. It is a set of software and
services that translate data into active intelligence and knowledge.
BI has a direct bearing on the strategic, strategic and operational business decisions of the
organization. BI assists in making fact-based decisions using historical historical data rather than
hypotheses and gut feelings.BI Tools analyzes data and creates reports, summaries, dashboards,
maps, charts and charts to give users a detailed understanding of the nature of the business.

Key features of Business Intelligence functionality

Interactive dash board

The Interactive Dashboard of Business Intelligence Solutions provides a complete and real-time
overview of all the important factors that help business leaders determine their future course of
action. With executive dashboards, KPIs are easy to set up and track to track the progress of any
project or process. Users can use dashboards to identify and remove process barriers. Dashboards
reduce response time and facilitate data filtration and faster processing.

Example –

1. Dashboards and Data Visualization - Business Intelligence

Development of Dialog Axiata Dashboard via Tableau for real-time performance monitoring.
Table training has been provided to several employees in various business sectors.

Location Intelligence
With geo-mapping, business intelligence service providers help their clients develop business
strategies that target specific geographies. It gives a clear idea of why the business is doing well in
some areas. While making losses from a few others. Treating according to their geographical
location can lead to better relationships with end users and customers.
Example –
I Locate is the best way to monitor the movement of your vehicle at any time and work on any
network. Rs. 7,950 / - This service is available to a driver or even an executive with a small business
owner.
You can monitor the vehicle from the I Locate app on your Android smartphone or from your
computer. Even if you do not have a smartphone, now you can easily find the locations of your
vehicles and the location history of each vehicle by sending an SMS.
All you have to do is install the I Locate Pro (GPS) device in your vehicle and activate the I Locate
service on your mobile phone.
Ranking Reports
This feature enables users to generate team-specific reports that help identify products, businesses,
locations, individuals, groups, and others as best and worst performers. Filtering and sorting options
allow users to enter different dimensions and business criteria for in-depth analysis.

Pivot Tables
Turntables help to process the data needed to draw relevant business acumen. Functions such as data
sorting, calculations. Here are some common features of Summary Turning Tables: As an
alternative, they are used by companies to predict market trends and analyze business information.

Interactive Reports
Their primary function is to ensemble large amounts of data for easy-to-understand information for
better interpretation. In addition, users receive a variety of ideas to identify business trends and
adjust anomalies for smooth business behavior. Features like record drill-down, conditional
formatting, time series zoom help them with this.
In addition to the items listed above, operational reports, provisional reports. In addition, open
integration, metadata layer, user-specific security, etc. are essential elements of business intelligence
solutions.

compare and contrast Range of information systems and technologies that can be used
to support organizations at operational, tactical and strategic levels

Decision Assistance System (DSS) is a computerized program used to assist in the determination,
judgment, and action of an organization or business. DSS analyzes and analyzes large amounts of
data, providing detailed information that can be used to solve problems and make decisions.
Now as a comparison I would like to give a simple example of tactical, operational and strategic
level cognition.

Tactical level -Offer a 10% discount to get more sales this month.
(A tactical decision is made in isolation; it is short-lived and does not take into account the overall
business or other factors)
Operational level - 10% discount that can be activated through a discount code for redemption over
the internet and scannable bar codes and promo codes that can be used in our stores. Allow
customers to use discounts throughout the month, so no unique code is required.
(Operational decisions explain how things work, dependencies, descriptions, processes, and
execution)

Strategic level- We wanted to give a discount but we are selling a premium brand. Even if
we can bring a discount to customers this month, it will erode the value of our brand. Instead,
we need to do marketing that promotes the quality and uniqueness of our products.

(A strategic decision is not isolated but includes several strategic decisions that work
together to support a higher corporate strategy)

For example, there is a three-level pyramid model based on the types of decision at
different levels in the organization.

Figure 7 Different levels in the organization Three-level pyramid

Source: (ResearchGate, n.d.)

Comparison of different kinds of information systems.

Using the four-level pyramid model, we can now compare how our model information system differs
from each other.

Transaction processing system (Tps)

The organization uses transaction processing systems to record day-to-day business transactions.
They are used by users at the operational management level. The main purpose of a transaction
processing system is to answer common questions such as;

1. How laptop was sold today?

2. How much inventory do we have at hand?
The TPS system answers the above questions in a timely manner by recording day-to-day business
transactions.

1. Decisions made by operational managers are general and highly structured.

2. The information generated by the transaction processing system is very detailed
Management information system

Strategic managers use Management Information Systems (MIS) to monitor the organization's
current performance. The output of a transaction processing system is used as input to a management
information system. The MIS system analyzes input with a standard algorithm that adds, compares,
and summarizes product quality results to product reports used by strategic managers to monitor,
control, and predict future performance.

For example, input from a point-of-sale system can be used to analyze trends in well-performing and
non-inactive products. This information can be used to place future inventory orders, such as
increasing orders for well-executed products and decreasing orders for inactive products.

Includes examples for management information systems

Sales Management Systems - They receive input from the point of sale
Budgeting Systems - Provides an overview of how much money is being spent on the organization
in the short and long term.
Decision support system (DSS)
Critical support systems are used by senior management to make extraordinary decisions.
Decision-making support systems use input from internal systems (transaction processing systems
and management information systems) and external systems.
The main purpose of decision-making support systems is to provide solutions to unique and ever-
changing problems. Answers questions such as decision support systems
1. If we double the production volume of the factory, what will be the impact on
the productivity of the workers?
2. What happens to our sales if a new competitor enters the market?

Modern mathematical models and statistical techniques (probability, predictive modeling, etc.) are
used to provide decision-making support system solutions and are highly interactive.
(Guru99, 2019)

You can use a database to consolidate data from one or more of the unequal sources, creating a
centralized database of data. Basically, it maintains a copy of the information from the original
transaction systems, so you only need a single query engine to view the data you need. A database is
useful if you want to keep a big picture of your organization / business, historical data, improve the
quality of your data (more stable, less bad data, etc.) or combine all the data from different sources.

The dashboard is a real-time user interface that displays information, usually readable, on a single
page, visualizing data using charts and charts. In real time, we mean that most dashboards can be
dragged to a web page that is linked to a database so that the data displayed is constantly updated and
refreshed. Dashboards show summaries, major trends, comparisons, and exceptions of both current
and historical data. This allows you to simultaneously view the performance and status of different
parts of an organization and make informed business decisions.

Data retrieval, sometimes referred to as knowledge retrieval, is essentially a pattern search tool. It is
usually difficult to find an understandable structure among dozens of fields in large contact
databases. Data retrieval software can analyze large amounts of data to extract information from that
set, and can extract previously unconfirmed patterns, outsiders, associations, and affiliates. Data
retrieval applications are so widespread that they are often used as applications for passwords or
marketing purposes, as they are often used in applications for large-scale data processing and
computer decision-making systems.

discussing business intelligence, a company should design a business intelligence tool or application
or interface for better performance. After designing a design, the design should be customized to
ensure that it is user-friendly. Part 1 provides a critical overview of how it meets a specific user or
business need and identifies the author with the customization integrated into the design.
Example 01
The store owner uses BI analytics applications to gather statistical information about the average
wholesale store sales rate. It helps to find the total income earned in one day. Data is collected from
each store survey and consumer survey to determine the competitive status of different markets. By
analyzing these trends from year to year, it helps management to offer month-to-month and day-to-
day discounts on sales.

Tools and techniques of BI

Initially, BI tools were primarily used by data analysts, economy scientists, and other IT
professionals. BI platforms are used by business executives and workers themselves, however,
thanks to the development of self-service BI and database tools and dashboards.
Some of the tools and techniques involved are as follows:
Data collection
The first step in gaining business intelligence is data collection. There are various methods of data
collection that can provide reliable information for statistical analysis and help an organization make
a data-based decision.

Surveys

Web surveys or Internet surveys are defined as the collection of data and the sending of a survey or
questionnaire to a sample of respondents over the Internet and thereby the response to the survey
through the World Wide Web. Respondents can send web surveys through various media such as
embedded emails and social media. A web browser that uses a web survey, response questionnaire is
stored in a database based on survey response websites.

An example of an online web survey is when a retailer wants to do a market research study on the
buying habits of their sellers and customers. In this case, customers can receive an email from the
retail organization asking them to complete the survey. Other survey distribution methods may
include SMS surveys, website embedding, and social media.

In-person surveys (interviews)

Personal Interviews - In this method, if the respondent finds it difficult to answer certain questions,
they will not be interested in the topic and it will be easier to identify the wrong feedback using
observational methods such as body language, expression and tone of voice. This is a cheap way,
For example - if our organization conducts interviews to evaluate immediate supervisors of
employees. In such a case, supervised evaluation survey questions can be used to conduct the
interview to gather accurate information to promote a better work culture within the organization.

Email survey
One of the most commonly used methods for distributing a web survey is to send the survey by
email. This email can be sent as an email to existing customers as well as prospective clients and
clients. This method is the most effective way to collect survey responses. An example of
distributing a web survey via email is a survey of customer satisfaction, which allows an
organization to send in-depth feedback on satisfaction levels with the brand to its past and present
customers.
SMS survey

SMS surveying is another way of distributing web surveys. This distribution method is useful for a
very large group of contacts in one geographical location. This method can also be used when it is
necessary to collect location-based surveys that help the telephone number to classify respondents.
An example of a text message survey is that a chat company needs to understand the overall client's
satisfaction and respondents need to apply a Network Promotion (NPS) query that can be accessed
by clicking on a text message URL. Online Response Platform.

Task 04

LO4) Discuss the impact of business intelligence tools and technologies for
effective decision-making purposes and the legal/regulatory context in which they
are used
Discuss how business intelligence tools can contribute to effective decision-
making.

Introduction to BI tools and Decision-making

Business Intelligence (BI) software tools are essential for enterprises to gain insight, stay competitive
and maximize their growth. BI refers to the process of analyzing raw data and raw data to ensure
better business decisions. For example industry patterns, client behavior, profitability, stock and
itemized financial analysis Companies at all levels need to be able to effectively decompose,
monitor, manage and visualize their data effectively.

Evolution of BI Tools
BI Tools began to urge business users to respond to changing markets and technologies. Eventually,
companies began to look for sales and independent BI tools to fit the complex and fragmented
enterprise landscape.

Traditionally, BI has always been used for group applications using SQL. Over time, business users
migrated to streaming and real-time applications. These support real-time query mechanisms and
streaming dashboard capabilities. Today, the latest BI toolkit supports both streaming applications
and natural language processing (NLP).
Benefits of Business Intelligence

BI tools use OLAP (Online Analysis Settings) to assist entrepreneurs to perform data analysis,
monitor KPIs, and generate all types of reports. As a result, companies can identify business
tendencies (negative and positive), communicate findings to their stakeholders, and gain an active
understanding of informed decisions. When needed to stay ahead of the competition, companies can
be given a leg up by providing data on forecasting market trends, finding new opportunities and
developing rapid strategies.
Among the advantages of BI tools are:
1. Actionable business insights
2. Fast reporting and analytics
3. Increased customer and stakeholder satisfaction
4. Past, present, and future market trends
5. Increased operational efficiency
6. Increased revenue
7. Competitive analysis
8. Better, informed decisions
(PeerNova, 2020)
Explore the legal issues involved in the secure exploitation of business intelligence tools.
Introduction to Business Intelligence and Security
Intelligence is the ability to gain an understanding of their business in the hope that it can be used for
BI security. Business intelligence can be used to analyze data that can identify network
incompatibilities, network errors, technical and other issues. This can be used as a real-time
troubleshooting machine, and you can monitor it as it enters the database and exits your organization.
Therefore, any suspicious activity can be identified and corrected. To quote, Equifax found no
violation of the principles of lending and indebtedness, and its policies were ultimately ignored, and
millions of customers' data and personal information were compiled as a result.

Once you have achieved the primary goal of gaining business intelligence and starting to show
results in it, never go for it to match your old pre-BI strategies. You do not want to be frustrated if
you cannot get the right pitch so invest in a good capo. At the end of the day, companies are
sustainable and successful and hold a strong shield between business intelligence and security.
