Network design assignment

This will be a complete network proposal. It should include a rationale for choices made
and be as specific as possible. When possible cost figures should be included. The
proposal should include information on legacy networks and future expansion if
necessary. Please be aware of Gannon plagiarism / Intellectual property guidelines.

Written proposal

 Overview of network
 Needs/wants assessment
 Network layout / topology
 Protocol/implementation layout
 Resources required (PC’s, media, hubs, etc)

Requirements

 At least 20 PC’s
 At least Two different rooms separated by floors or more than 100 Meters
 At least 10 PC’s requiring higher speed networking
 At least 10 WAN connected PC’s
 At least one server
 Security / Cost / Speed / (Pick at least 2 as Major/Minor considerations)
 All cabling/media considerations
 All connectivity device considerations
 At least one variation/alternative
 Cost is always an issue (be able to justify expenses)
 This is not an Internet Copy, Cut and Paste assignment

Meets all requirements/complete 50%
Professionalism of written proposal 50%
