*OPENING*

Teacher : Assalamualaikum wr wb. Hello everyone, good morning. How are you today?
Students : Great miss atau I’m fine (bebas)
Teacher : Before we start our lesson today lets pray together and please the class leader lead
us to pray
Kiki : “Ok friends, before we start today’s lesson. It would be better if we pray first. Pray
begin......... Pray was enough. Thank you.
Teacher : Okay, thank you kiki for leading the prayer. First please fulfill the attendance in
Google Form that i share. I will sent you the link at the Zoom chat.

alright it’s done. And so please download the worksheet. And please read and fill it to guide
this lesson.

Students : Yes, miss.

*APPERCEPTION*
Teacher : Do you know what is this?

Nadia : That’s salt, miss

Teacher : Good Nadia. Anyone?
Tasya : It’s also called NaCl or sodium chloride
Teacher : Yes, That’s correct. And now, what kind relationship between salt and our today’s
lesson?
Hanaul : Are we going to talk about salt, miss?
Teacher : Okay, that’s still related. And then, what do you know about NaCl?
Sultan : I want to try miss. NaCl comes from seawater.
Teacher : Okay, that’s right. But what it is actually formed?
Sultan : NaCl is formed from strong acids and strong bases.
Teacher : Yeah, that’s right Sultan. Thank you

*MOTIVATION*
Teacher : It’s not just NaCl salt around us. There are toothpaste, cough medicine, diuretic
durg and detergen. This product are contain the other types of salt.
So after you study salt hydrolysis I hope you can get to know more about salt compounds.

*STIMULATION*
Teacher : Please, take a look at the following picture.

*PROBLEM STATEMENT*
Teacher : Okay, based on what you observe is there any question?
Herlinda : Yes, i want ask miss
Teacher : Yes please Herlinda
Herlinda : Why does litmus paper chages its color?
Teacher : Okay, you’re smart, for answering your question let’s see the video first and then
you will find the answer.

*DATA COLLECTION*
Teacher : Please observe the following demonstration video and record the data from the
video in your worksheet

*DATA PROCESSING*
Teacher : Okay. Have you record and write down what you observe in the demonstration
video?
Students : Yes Miss.
Teacher : Okay. First question. What happens when litmus paper is put into a solution of
CH3COONH4 (ammonium acetate) and NaCl (sodium chloride)?
Vinna : Before the litmus paper put into the solution CH3COONH4 (ammonium acetate) and
NaCl (sodium chloride), the litmus paper has not changed color. But after the litmus paper
put into the solution there is no change in the litmus paper. Red litmus paper remains red and
blue litmus paper remains blue.
Teacher : Great Vinna. And why it could be like that?
Sarah : Because of the partial hydrolysis
Teacher : okay, thank you for answer Sarah. But sorry your answer incorrect. So anyone
want to try to explain?
Nadia : I want to try miss. Because CH3COONH4 (ammonium acetate) salts are formed from
weak acids, it is CH3COOH with a weak base that is NH3, while NaCl salts are formed from
HCl as strong acids and NaOH as strong bases.
Teacher : Okay, that’s good answer Nadia. And why the result of the litmus paper remain
same?
Hanaul : Since no one dominates, it has the same result. So CH3COOHN4 and NaCl salts are
neutral.
Teacher : Okay, good job Hana

Teacher : Oke next question. What happens when litmus paper is put in a solution of Na 2CO3
(sodium carbonate)?
Kiki : Before the litmus paper put into the solution Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate), the litmus
paper has not changed color. But after the litmus paper put into the solution there is no
change in the litmus paper. The red litmus paper turns into blue and the blue litmus paper
remains blue.
Teacher : Why could it be like that?
Rahma Julap : Because Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate) salt is formed from a weak acid that is
H2CO3 with a strong base that is NaOH. So, Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate) salt is base.
Teacher : Okay, good answer Rahma. Thank you

Teacher : Last question, What happens when litmus paper is put into a solution of NH 4Cl
(ammonium chloride)?
Farhan : Before the litmus paper put into the solution NH4Cl (ammonium chloride), the
litmus paper has not changed color. But after the litmus paper put into the solution there is no
change in the litmus paper. The red litmus paper remains red and blue litmus paper turns into
red.
Teacher : Why could it be like that?
Ibrahim : Because NH4Cl (ammonium chloride) is formed from a strong acid that is HCl with
a weak base NH3. So, NH4Cl (ammonium chloride) salts are acid.
Teacher : Okay, Good job, thank you for your answer Ibrahim

*VERIFICATION*
Teacher : Now try to compare the data you obtained with the material I have given. Is it
same or different?
Students : Same miss
Teacher : “Okay, thank you. Is there another opinion?
Students : “No. Same miss”
Teacher : And now open your worksheet again. I remember Herlida ask a question. Can you
repeat your question, Herlinda?
Herlinda : Of course miss, why does litmus paper chages its color?
Teacher : Since we've discussed before, does anyone want to re-explain?
Farhan : Because if the blue litmus paper is put into an acid solution it will change color to
red, as in the demonstration video earlier.

*GENERALIZATION*
Teacher : Ok. Can anyone tell us the conclusion about our today’s lesson?
Rahma Julap : I want to try, miss
Teacher : Yes please, Rahma
Rahma Julap : Based on video demonstration, we can collected various types of salt shows
the results of different changes in the color of litmus paper, this is caused by different acid
and base constituents that depend on the strength or weakness of the acid and the base so that
the it will also produces properties that vary depending on the acid and base forming.
Teacher : Great answer Rahma. Anyone else want to argue?
Students : no, same miss

*EVALUATION*
Teacher : Ok! Is there anything that's still unclear?
Students : No, miss
Teacher : Good, if there is none, i give you the link for the evaluation so please prepare your
self and do the task for yourself. Are you ready guys?
Students : Ready, miss
Teacher : Okay, start
*4 Menit*
Teacher : Time’s up. Have you already finished?
Students : Yes, miss

*CLOSING*
Teacher : Finally before we end our lesson today lets pray together and please the class
leader lead us to pray
Kiki : “Ok friends, before we end today’s lesson. It would be better if we pray first. Pray
begin......... Pray was enough. Thank you.
Teacher : Okay thank you Kiki. I hope you can understand salt of hydrolysis that i bring
today. Wasslamualaikum wr wb
