HEAR HIGH PITCHED VIOLIN

VIOLIN COMES TO A SCREECHING HALT.

CUT TO:

EXT. STREET CORNER - NIGHT

SMASH CUT TO ESTABLISHING ON EMPTY STREET. The street is lit by Christmas

decorations and a slight purple haze. It is completely empty, but a cacophony of nightlife can still
be heard.

EXT. ALLEYWAY - CONTINUOUS

ESTABLISHING SHOT down a dark alley.

EXT. TOWN CENTRE - CONTINUOUS

ESTABLISHING SHOT down the street.

EXT. ROAD CROSSING - CONTINUOUS

WIDE SHOT ON BELISHA BEACON. A MAN wonders up to the beacon, phone in hand. He
looks at his phone worried before leaning against the beacon. He texts someone. LOW ANGLE
ON THE MAN as he types, the beacon above him flashing. We see his phone. He is texting
CARMILLA.

THE MAN (TEXT)

Let me come over, cook you
dinner. I want us to talk.

CARMILLA (TEXT)
I’ve told you, I don’t want
to see you anymore.

THE MAN (TEXT)

I’m sorry.

CARMILLA types for a moment before stopping. THE MAN sighs in disappointment. He
gathers himself, puts his phone in his pocket and walks away.

2.

EXT. BUS SHELTER - CONTINUOUS

MEDIUM SHOT on bus shelter seats. The man sits down on the one to the right. He is upset.
After a moment, he reaches into his pocket and takes out his phone once more. He opens his
messages to CARMILLA again.

HEAR DISTANT METAL THUD.

THE MAN briefly looks up, alerted to the noise before looking back down at his phone. He stares
at it for a moment, just waiting for some form of reply, but he receives nothing. He turns his
phone off and slides it back into his pocket.

HEAR LOUDER METAL THUD.

THE MAN looks up and surveys the area, peaking out of the bus shelter this time. He then stands
up and checks the bus times on the timetable behind him. He drags his finger down the frame -
“20:37”

HEAR ABSURDLY LOUD CRASH AGAINST THE GLASS.

THE MAN jumps back round – nothing there. After a moment of standing incredibly still, he
peaks outside the exit and gazes across the road. There is a bus shelter on the other side, but
nobody there.

HEAR JUNCTION BOX THUD.

THE MAN looks towards the box – CU. He tilts his head, the camera tracking his movement.

HEAR JUNCTION BOX THUD.

DUTCH TILT ON THE MAN as he storms over to the other side of the road. He approaches the
junction box and circles it. To his surprise, there is nothing there.

HEAR LIGHT THUD.

THE MAN wonders round to the other side of the box - Nothing.

HEAR LIGHT THUD.

THE MAN hastily wonders round to the other side - Nothing again.

3.

He looks confused. We PUSH IN on his face. He continues to contemplate as we PUSH IN from

behind.

HEAR NOISES FROM THE ALLEYWAY.

THE MAN jumps again and looks towards the alleyway.

HEAR CAT HISSING.

THE MAN moves towards the noise.

EXT. ALLEYWAY - CONTINUOUS

THE MAN stands at the entrance to the alleyway – LONG SHOT, DUTCH TILT - stoking up the
courage to investigate. He eventually does and wonders down the alley, stopping at a CU. He
looks around before turning to face the end of the alleyway.

HEAR FAINT BREATHING.

THE MAN looks around once more.

HEAR FOOTSTEPS RUN.

THE MAN quickly turns to face the sound. Nothing. He runs back the other way and out of the
alleyway.

EXT. RIVERSIDE PATH - CONTINUOUS

PUSH OUT as THE MAN runs across the path. He stops at a CU, looking around for somewhere
to hide. He glances over to a tree with some decent cover. He runs for it and hides behind the
trunk. He takes a moment to catch his breath.

HEAR TWIGS SNAP AND LEAVES RUSTLE.

THE MAN hesitantly peaks his head around the trunk and looks for any source of disturbance.
Nothing once more. He takes cover behind the tree again. He sighs in relief. He feels marginally
safe. He turns to look the other way – Suddenly – A hand grabs him by the throat.
