Large vocal works for voice and orchestra.
Uses props, costumes, acting, sets. Stories
about love, tragedy, deception, murder,
mythology. e.g. Don Giovanni, by Mozart
in the sections of a piece of music.
Rondo Form
Some forms were more popular in different periods of
music e.g. Oratorios in the Baroque Period, or song ABACA
structure in todays’ e.g. Fur Elise, by Beethoven

Theme & Variations
Theme - Variation 1 (V1) - (V2) – (V3)
The piece starts with a musical idea or theme.
This is repeated but with some difference or
variations, (variation 1). It usually becomes
more complex as it moves through each
variation section.
