Read the scenario and answer the following questions:

1. How will you describe the experiences of the students in a Multigrade class?

A multigrade class is made up of two or more separate grade levels that are taught by the
same instructor for the full school year in a single-grade classroom. It is taught at elementary
schools that are located in remote, sparsely populated areas. Because of a lack of classroom
space and also because there aren't enough teachers to teach the children, students in
multigrade classes have had a difficult time adjusting to their new environment. It's possible
that grade 3 students, grade 4 students, and grade 5 students are all in the same classroom.
Multigrades classes are located outside of the city.

2. What do you think are the underlying learning principles that guided the teacher in preparing
for her class? Elaborate.

In a classroom, a teacher's job entails creating and managing a learning environment. As a

teacher, I must also ensure that the classroom atmosphere is clean and well-maintained so
that students can concentrate and feel at ease. We also need to create an appropriate
educational environment for our students so that they can apply what they've learned to
themselves. In the classroom, they have a variety of responsibilities. One of these is to provide
a learning environment and climate that is appropriate for the child's learning process, to
maintain class control, to regulate each child's behavior, and to ensure that they learn and
enjoy the class.

3. Having the knowledge of the different principles in teaching in a multigrade class. What are
your realizations after reading the scenario?

The primary responsibility of a multigrade teacher is to instruct children by transmitting

knowledge rather than simply following a curriculum. A teacher must be able to help students
acquire abilities while also instilling positive values and attitudes. Multigrade teaching is a
word that refers to a situation in which a single instructor is responsible for educating
students in more than one curricular grade during a timetabled period. Multigrade schools are
those that have classes for many grades.
