Introduction

The gymnosperms are soft woody plants commonly known as the naked seed
plants. The representatives of this group are the cycads, ginkgos, conifer, and
gnetophytes. The male cones are smaller than the female cones, wherein pollen and
ovule are produced respectively.

Gymnosperm

I. Write your introduction (This includes principles, significance of the study,

objectives of the experiment and the passive voice and past tense.
Introduction must be short but packed with relevant content).

II. Procedure:
1. Describe the four groups of gymnosperm based on the following:
a. seeds
b. leaves
c. reproductive system
d. Life cycle
e. economic importance

2. Search in the internet illustrations of one representative of each group of

gymnosperm with scientific name.

III. Results and Discussion - Questions/Assessment:

1. Explain the leaf dimorphisms in cycads.
2. Why do you think the sole representative of ginkgo’s is commonly called
“Maiden hair tree living fossil”?
3. How gymnosperm seeds are dispersed?
4. How gymnosperm differ from angiosperm?
