changed the way we live and work. It has changed the way business used to
run in the past. After outbreak of this pandemic and lockdown in various
countries, there has been number of businesses which have moved from
offline mode to online mode. The utmost affected businesses were those
which run only through offline mode and where the transition from offline to
online is not possible. Most of the businesses today are trying to go online
where this transition is possible. It is said that ‘Necessity is the mother of all
inventions’; businesses are coming out with innovative ways to grow and
excel. The other businesses which boomed are the e-commerce companies
such as flipkart, amazon, and grocery online supermarkets such as grofers,
big basket etc. as people now prefer to buy online instead of going to the
market as a precautionary and safety measure. This is leading to increase in
sales of e-commerce companies. This ecommerce boom is affecting offline
retail stores. Reliance has launched its online store JioMart in wake of this,
taking the advantage of perfect timing.
These papers also deal with the effects of misuse of modern technologies on
community members and its negative repercussions on the economic,
religious and social aspects and its impact on people the behavior and
responsibility of society in observing children who need attention to it
everyone through counseling with appropriate educational methods.
Moreover, these papers make clear the need for collectively, efforts are
made to protect society as a whole from the dangers of modern technologies
work together to make use of its resources properly. However, this research
emphasizes the fact that each person has to assume their responsibilities
towards using these methods correctly both at home and abroad.

INTRODUCTION: Everything was running smoothly; our lives were

on track. The 21st century was blooming like any other day until we could
know our unpredictable future. An outbreak of novel corona virus (2019-
nCoV) began in the city of China, Wuhan which rapidly spread with
confirmed cases in many countries. The virus showed the symptoms of
fatigue, sour throat, high fever etc. Later, travel related transmission were
observed in various countries which raised the situation of global health
emergency. Virus spread rapidly across the countries causing deaths and
trauma around the globe. Gradually, it went out of control as it started
spreading by infected humans and surface contact, more and more people
went into quarantine. The symptoms advanced to respiratory illness and lung
failure. One by one countries started shutting themselves from public places
to international and domestic transport, schools, colleges, restaurants, courts,
shopping malls, gymnasiums, salons, everything was evacuated.
The virus expanded wildly throughout the globe that humans were forced to
sit home. Lockdown has been imposed in all the countries it was an
emergency protocol which prevented people from leaving a given area.
The pandemic situation made people live by technology, they started
working from home through web cameras and video conferencing portals.
From corporate sectors to judiciary everyone is working online through
technology. Education and learning also took place through online
platforms. Digital technology has brought new innovations in challenging
time. The pandemic situation made people live by technology, they started
working from home through web cameras and video conferencing portals.
From corporate sectors to judiciary everyone is working online through
technology. Education and learning also took place through online
platforms. Digital technology has brought new innovations in challenging
time. Many of us have been already using phones, digital media and other
artificial gadgets in our day to day lives, but during the current scenario of
pandemic, technology has become even more important to us. During the
lockdown, everyone tried to abstain from going out and doing their work,
but technology made the work easier and flexible. The economy of the
countries is not dragging to worst situation just because of the new age
technology. Many corporate companies are running online, having their
meetings through online portals like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google
Meet. Education is also not in much trouble due to the online classes through
these portals. On the top of this, plethora of mental health apps are helping
to control anxiety and stress. Many apps have been made to track the health
and situation of COVID -19. The heaviest demand ever in time, has been the
increase in demand of video games, online games. They are finding place in
every home. With all this how could we forget our favorite social media and
online streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime. These all upgraded
technologies have become the survivor for this challenging situation. They
all have added value not only to professional but personal lives too.
Conversely, reliance on technology primarily has negative and
dangerous effects that have worse consequences. Thus, there are increased
concerns in the speed at which modern technology spreads as well as its uses
and their false and negative impacts. This was due to the absence of
effective guidance where some groups have become vulnerable to the
negative effects of life-threatening. Since education is an important area of
life, the use of modern technologies makes it an essential part in education,
not just a simple addition [4]. This research shows the negative impacts of
modern technologies on society and will contribute to raise people's
awareness towards the appropriate ways of using modern technologies. The
authors hope that by presenting the negative effects of modern technologies
on society, it will have positive influences on individuals and society in
general since modern technologies play a major role in people's lives and
future possibilities.
First: The Impact of Technology in Preventing the
Spread of Covid -19

 Abstract
The world has lost a lot of jobs during t4he last period as a result of the
ongoing pandemic crisis, Covid 19, since its spread in early January of this
year. Today, millions of people continue to complete their work from their
homes, relying on modern technology devices and working with a domestic
ban policy, and not mixing together in the workplace in a large and
collective manner, although some countries have recently started allowing a
certain category of employees, with limited rates, to come to offices to
accomplish work.
And recently, some institutions have conducted a number of researches
related to the extent of the impact of the Corona virus on the current and
future labor market in some Arab countries, including the countries of the
Gulf Cooperation Council. Among the institutions that conducted the
research was Betcom, in cooperation with the YouGov organization, as this
relates to people's expectations about the impact of technology on daily
business in light of the ongoing Corona crisis. The research came out with
several things, including that more than 65% of workers in the region (that
is, every 2 out of 3 people) expect that searches and communication will
take place via the Internet, and will witness an increase in that in the coming
years in light of the persistence of the Corona virus. Everyone knows that
this pandemic has greatly affected the professional and practical conditions
of many employees and workers in institutions, as it pushed them to change
their routine work.
Today, modern technologies used in business have a great role in
communicating with institutions from homes and operating some of the
professions and services that people need. 81% of those who participated in
this study stated that these technologies and programs have contributed to
reducing the infection of people with the Coronavirus, given that the larger
gatherings, whether in workplaces and institutions, the number of infected
people also increases, especially with those who do not adhere to the
procedures and do not take measures Precaution required. The number of
injured has not decreased in the region until today, and it is increasing with
the number of deaths as well. However, the work that is done by working
electronically and remotely reduces and limits the number of people infected
with this deadly virus sometimes.
This pandemic is now pushing young people to arm themselves with the
available electronic technologies due to their importance in the work that is
done, while 80% of those who expressed their opinion in this regard in the
countries of the region expect that this disease will affect future employment
activities in the region, given that applying for any good administrative job
has become today. Linked to the use of such modern technologies as
compared to old technologies. This disease pushes all former, current and
upcoming employees to follow their affairs with these techniques, and even
pushes them to use a lot of personal hygiene methods in the workplace and
outside and to wear masks and gloves as their number increases.

 INNOVATION IN THE ERA OF COVID-19

Epidemics and pandemics have rooted the world since ages. From H1N1,
Ebola, SARS we have been learning to develop ourselves more with the
advent of each outbreak. Technology couldn’t vanish the situations but could
help in its spreading, empowering and warning people. There was an
increase in the demand of hand sanitizers and masks which led to immense
shortage of the both. So, to fight the shortage new „Automatic Mask
Machines' manufactured masks which were 40% cheaper than imported
masks.
Rudhaar a very low-cost ventilator was launched together, by the team of
scientists and engineers in India. Just like Rudhaar, Jeeva Setu ventilator by
REVA University was an innovation. An Indian Navy doctor developed a
very low-cost PPE kit “NavRakshak”. These PPE kits are made of
breathable fabric and could be used in hot and humid weather conditions.
Wireless thermometers which detects the temperature within some distance
without actually touching the people are being seen at offices, airports,
hospitals, railway stations and at other crowded places. Innovation of robotic
technology in healthcare system, businesses etc. is a step forward to fight
with the virus. There is no stop in the use of technology and innovation in
the challenging situation of pandemic. This technological advancement has
made us reach to the far better conditions, which would not have been
possible without data science.

 REVIEW OF LITERATURE
(Mihalis Kritikos, 2020) * of the Scientific Foresight Unit (STOA) analyzed
in detail how ten different technological domains are helping to fight against
the pandemic disease by means of innovative applications. It sheds light on
the main legal and regulatory challenges and on the key socio-ethical
dilemmas that the various uses of these technologies pose when applied in a
public-health emergency context such as the Covid 19 pandemic. (Veena
Shenoy, Sheetal Mahendher, 2020) have found that technology adoption has

created the revolution in Indian higher education. Most of the higher
education in Bangalore has widely adopted the technology and students‟
involvement is more than the regular class engagement. (GEETIKA
SACHDEV, 2020) * has discussed that OTT platforms are experiencing
high rise in their demand. A recent report made by Nielsen found that during
the lockdown, there was 60% rise in the amount of content people
consumed. Furthermore, according to KPMG report, OTT consumption in
India could start seeing a shift from the mobile screen to the large TV screen
“owing to the lockdown effect with broadband internet”. This COVID-19
situation brought everyone to Work from home (WFH). All the employees
from major sectors are adapting to this technique. People find it hard to work
from home. (P & Shahid, 2020) * research is based on the experience of the
people doing WFH. They concluded that the working environment is a key
factor that allows people to work. The willingness depends upon the
working environment. One of the major common factors is family. Some
employees were not able to work when their children and other family
members are around. So, keeping factors in mind, the employers should set
up a controlled and supportive environment for the employees to make them
willing to do work from home to get the best outcome from employees.
Apart from the major sectors like tourism, Manufacturing etc., the most
affected sector during COVID-19 is the education sector. Students are in a
dilemma that what, when, and how to study. (Daniel, 2020) gave a solution
to this problem i.e., Asynchronous method of learning. The research done by
him shows a positive response as this method is simple for remote teaching.
There are many institutes such as India’s National Institute of Open
Schooling and The UK Open University who had already started using this
technique during the COVID19 pandemic. Institutes, teachers, and students
should use more flexible and innovative techniques to recover the loss done
by COVID-19. (Mohammad Bani Younes, Samer Al- Zoubi Feb 2015)
discussed the impact of technology on society, the advanced technology
have wiped the social and moral responsibilities among the society leading
to family and personal problems, health issues like obesity, inactivity, lack
of desire to work , increase in violence and crime rate.
 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The objective of the research is to know the growing trends in technology,
its importance in challenging and difficult times. The research is solely
based on both primary (survey) and secondary (articles, journals, blogs,
previous reports) data. The survey was conducted among 221 respondents of
all ages, occupations and gender and was centric to Indian nationals. The
survey totally showed that technology has become the absolute way of
combating the situation of pandemic since 2019. From entertainment
platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime to work and e-learning, people are
dependent on new innovations and technology.

 ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATION

 Results from the survey shows that 49% respondents have agreed to
the fact that they are addicted to digital technology/media.

Figure 5 Addiction to Digital Technology/Media

 42% respondents spend about 4-8 hours on internet, mobile or digital
media on daily basis.

Figure 6 Usage of Internet, Mobile or Digital Media per day

 74%respondents accepted the fact that their life has become more
dependable on digital and social media after the outbreak of Covid-19
however, 14% did not feel the same. The awful impact of ferocious
pandemic embedded terror and fear in the lives of people and forced
them to stay inside which made them addicted to digital technology.

Figure 7 Dependence on digital technology/media after the outbreak of COVID-19

 As the survey was conducted after the outbreak of Covid-19, the
statistics shows that the demand for online video conferencing
platforms have increased to the level that big companies like
Microsoft, Zoom, Skype and others are experiencing high traffic on
their apps. Since corporations, enterprises, education institutions are
running through video conferencing platforms so, a question was
asked from respondents that which video conferencing portal they
would prefer for their work or personal entertainment (connecting to
families and friends). 32% respondents preferred Zoom, 22%
preferred Microsoft Teams followed by Google Meet and Skype with
20% and 12% respectively.

 As shown in figure 5, 68% respondents are using e-learning platforms to learn and
explore digitally. Many companies and universities have launched certificate
courses of short duration, to use the lockdown situation judicially. This has led to
networking, along with spread of knowledge.

 FINDINGS
While fighting the novel corona virus, new technology and innovations have
evolved. Countries across globe are advancing with technological
possibilities.
With most of the world’s workforce especially the white-collar workers
are working from home, students are attending online lectures, health
ministries and judiciary are having roundtable conferences while sitting at
home, essentials are being delivered at home, entertainment media is
boosting their profit. All thanks to the new tech world which supported our
lives from the novel corona virus. It wasn’t possible at the time of epidemics
in past as there was no social media, no online portals and even no smart
phones, only low speed internet and other technological appliances, still tech
helped that time in detecting and fighting against the situation.
We are somewhere blessed with the innovations around us which are
helping us in making lemonade from the lemons.

Explosion of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and other online

portals
Due to increasing demand of working from home in the pandemic there is an
explosion of demand for communication portals from companies like Zoom,
Microsoft Teams, Slack etc. But these changes are not short term, these
crises may change our working in the future. The “WFH” concept is a boost
for all cloud companies and especially the collaboration and meeting tools.
Remote work is the new normal which saves commute time and provide
much more flexibility.

Mental and psychological apps help in reducing stress and anxiety

The widespread coverage of COVID -19 situation and practice of social
distancing made people feel more stressed and anxious. Excess use of
smartphones and other digital appliances are making everyone restless. So,
to combat the stress and anxiety there are many smartphone apps made
available. Multiple digital and wellness apps are now open for free
membership. One of them is headspace which provides collection of
meditation and mindful content, especially to fight against COVID -19.

Development of apps to help in detecting Covid-19 symptoms and

situations
Many government agencies, universities and companies have launched the
apps that are helping to know the real time situation of COVID-19. These
apps also provide us updates about number of corona virus cases in our
surroundings. Aarogya Setu in India and COVID Symptom Study in UK are
the apps provided by the respective government to their natives to track
about the contracted people in their surroundings and the current situation of
COVID- 19. These are tracking apps which use the smartphone's GPS and
Bluetooth features to track the coronavirus infection.

Digital and contactless payments

India was advancing towards digital economy especially after
demonetization. Digital payment is a way of making payments through
digital modes. It helps in reducing black money, corruption and is more
convenient and easier. Cash may carry the virus within itself, so many
contactless and digital payments apps, cards, electronic wallets are
recommended by the government to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Digital
payments allow the individual to do online money purchases or payments
without human interaction.

Distance Learning
The government in mid of March 2020 announced schools and universities
closure due to the increase corona virus risk of impacting the students. Many
educational institutions started with the online learning measures so that the
lockdown doesn’t impact the education of the students. Many technologies
were provided by the private companies to learn digitally through cloud
computing, like enabling of digital conferencing through MS Teams, Zoom
etc. It also included artificial intelligence enabled robotic teachers. Students
are provided with online assessments and projects so to keep them engaged
and focused. No geographical limitations, knowledge learning, interactive
sessions etc. are contributing to new age learning.

Online Entertainment
Pandemic lead to social distancing and in many cases no human interactions,
still the globe is connected through social media. Families separated from
each other could contact easily. It helped in providing community and
emotional support. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have been
entertaining the people all around the globe from providing funny content to
factual information. Most of the importance is gained by online streaming
services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, HBO Go, Hulu, Sling TV etc.
There is huge increase in their demand as they provide endless entertainment
through cloud services like online movies, web series, live TV and many
more in reasonable subscriptions. The people are entertained and engaged
and can chill at their homes with families. Over the top services (OTT) are
the emerging platforms which streamed media services through internet
directly to the viewers like Amazon prime. Due to corona virus, government
have announced the shutdown of cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools,
malls, restaurants and large gathering places. So, the launch of new movies
is being done through OTT platform.

Fast & Frugal Innovations

There was lack of time and resources to fight against this novel pandemic.
Every country tried to be as innovative as possible. Trains were made
hospital wards for patients with COVID-19. Distilleries have pivoted to
produce millions of bottles of hand sanitizers. There were number of fast and
frugal.

 CONCLUSION
In this new normal, technology offers solutions to overcome some of the
challenges thrown up by the pandemic. This is the new reality, which is
predicting growth in virtual meetings, online education, artificial
intelligence-based communication, rural broadband, IoT solutions, satellite-
based asset tracking solutions, 5G to name a few. The technology is keeping
us connected to our families, offices, friends and near and dear ones. The
challenging situation like pandemics doesn’t come on one person, it ruins
the whole world. To fight against this situation technology has been one of
the most important support for survival. With the revolution, the way
technology is being used in challenging times have proven to be successful
in saving the nation. From entertainment to education it has saved many
lives from depression and despair. All these trends indicate that
communication technology will play a great role in reshaping a post Covid-
19 world. Our data science has proved its importance and vulnerability to
make us survive through difficult situations.
Second: The Impact of Technologies on Society

 Introduction
The more advanced technology becomes, the more it seems to have control
over our lives. Today, the use of technology is widely available and
insistently promoted throughout our society. While technology makes life
easier for people, it also creates some problems for our society such as the
decline in ordinary social behaviors. Yet, modern societies realized the
significance of intellectual technology which is a form of new knowledge
that achieves goals or solves many problems.

The word technology consists of two parts (Techno) means application, art
or skill, and (Logy) means science and learning. Thus, the linguistic
meaning of the word technology is: the methods and tools that a society has
developed in order to facilitate the solution of its practical problems and to
provide the necessary needs for the community. Consequently, the use of
technology in all areas of life increases risks, threats and crimes associated
with the use of this technique, which reflects negatively on the possibility of
its use in absolute terms in all walks of life.

Since human beings are social by nature, relationships nowadays become

more dominated by the use of modern technologies such as social media,
which reduces the distances, despite of having negative effects on human
relations in society and family. Currently, people recognize that the use of
modern technologies is a requirement for life and an indication of the
cultural awareness of the community. They have positive prominent roles as
one of the requirements of this era where they enter in all walks of life to
provide services, improve the quality of life and increase communication
and relationships since it is a developed culture reflects the culture of the
community.

Thus, there are increased concerns in the speed at which modern technology
spreads as well as its uses and their false and negative impacts. This was due
to the absence of effective guidance where some groups have become
vulnerable to the negative effects of life-threatening. Since education is an
important area of life, the use of modern technologies makes it an essential
part in education, not just a simple addition.

This research shows the negative impacts of modern technologies on society

and will contribute to raise people's awareness towards the appropriate ways
of using modern technologies. The authors hope that by presenting the
negative effects of modern technologies on society, it will have positive
influences on individuals and society in general since modern technologies
play a major role in people's lives and future possibilities.

 Statement of the Problem

The most important negative impacts of the use of modern technologies on
society and its impact on individual behavior are: the formation of personal
beliefs, social isolation, reduction in the family ties between the family and
society members, inactivity, obesity, lack of desire to work different kinetic
activities, a waste of time in things that are not useful, increase in the rate of
violence, especially in children because of watching violent programs, high
crime rate because of spreading video clips presenting all kinds of these
crimes and ways of committing them and the spread of lies and rumors
causing distraction and loss of trust in such information.

 Significant of the Research

The practical significance of this research takes place in:
 Identifying the negative impacts of the use of modern technologies
and their patterns.
 Recognizing the trend of using the modern technologies.
 Contributing research to determine the cause of the phenomenon of
the use of modern technologies with the passage of time.
 Seeking to identify and develop ways and effective mechanisms to
reduce the negative impacts of the use of modern technologies.
 Research Objectives
To demonstrate the negative impacts of the misuse of modern
technologies on society. These are the major objectives of this research:
 To recognize the use of modern technological techniques by
members of the society and their impacts on the social aspects.
 To identify the reasons for gaining modern technological techniques
(why people use these techniques).
 To reveal the disadvantages of the use of modern technological
techniques in all areas of life.
 To be aware of the ideas spreading among members of the society
about the positive and negative impacts of modern technological
techniques.
 To realize the impacts of modern technological techniques on the
family relations, family budget and children's achievements.
 To be familiar with the family's role in reducing the risk of modern
technological techniques.

 Discussion of Research Objectives

The main purpose of this research is to identify the negative impacts of
misusing modern technologies on society. Moreover, it provides detailed
information concerning the impact of modern technological techniques on
individuals and societies.

I. Discussion Related to the First Objective of the Research to

recognize the use of modern technological techniques by members
of the society and their impacts on the social aspects. The use of
modern technological technique becomes a cornerstone of human
social life. However, human societies experienced significant and
rapid development of these techniques, making it more convenient
in social communication. Because of the adoption of these
techniques, communities’ relationships become unstable in all
aspects of life and also it is difficult to determine the impacts of their
use. Furthermore, the occurrence of new and increasing patterns of
behaviors and values influenced the social interaction process.

II. Discussion Related to the Second Objective of the Research to

identify the reasons for gaining modern technological techniques
(why people use these techniques). One of the most important
reasons for young people to use modern technologies is the desire
not to deal with others directly and not to establish social
relationships. So these can become strong alternative of social visits
and exchange of experiences and feelings. On the other hand, media,
such as radio and television, still have major impact on the
orientation of young people towards these techniques where most of
them have been brought up on information quoted from the media.
We cannot lose sight of the satellite's role in the transfer of
ideologies from one country to another and the spread of blind
imitation along with the youth feeling of wanting the experience and
independence from the others based on the fact that things that are
forbidden are liked the most, and the belief that most of the young
people practice this kind of personal strength and ability to make
decisions away from the family and society. It is clear that most
people who are addicted to the use of the Internet are the ones who
suffer from social isolation because they spend long times using
these techniques and their communication is limited to the written
conversations with no sensory feelings.

III. Discussion Related to the Third Objective of the Research to reveal

the disadvantages of the use of modern technological techniques in
all areas of life. Wasting time, the spread of incorrect and
unauthenticated information and spreading lies through these
techniques are among the most drawbacks that face our
communities due to the use of these techniques. Sometimes, one can
see a certain kind of sarcasm of the ultimate divine and religion and
see the spread of religious stories as well as incorrect beliefs come
out as a result of these techniques. They can also be seen in other
forms such as voice, image or video files, which can cause danger to
the young, gossip and verbal abuse to others, and it can also lead to
isolation and the emergence of a lot of psychological and health
problems. Perhaps the mixing of cultures is not less dangerous than
the other negatives through which the society might be affected by
many strange customs and traditions under the excuse of openness
and globalization. As a result, these means have significant impacts
on individuals that take them away from reading books and getting
information through printed paper.

IV. Discussion Related to the Fourth Objective of the Research

to be aware of the ideas spreading among members of the society
about the positive and negative impacts of modern technological
techniques. Research and investigation have shown that people's
views and ideas conflict on the positive and negative use of these
techniques. On one hand, some of people emphasized the need to
stay up to date with modern life, as a result of the accelerated pace
of life in all aspects as a method to reduce distances, save time and
effort in terms of access to information and the completion of the
transactions. On the other hand, some of them believe that modern
technologies have formed a severe blow to social and family system
and the cause of the high incidence of divorce and they recommend
the need to impose sanctions on these technology techniques so as
not to leave their children in a world of illusions and assumptions and
lessens the social and family ties. According to the religion point of
view, some people think that modern technologies are abomination
of Satan and that they have contributed to the deterioration of
values and lack of ethics while others see it as a constructive means
that we should take advantages of them.
V. Discussion Related to the Fifth Objective of the Research to
realize the impact of modern technological techniques on the family
relations, family budget and children's achievements. The lives of
individuals in a one family have changed as a result of the use of
modern technologies where families cannot escape from these
changes and their effects. We can find that there are many TVs in
one house in different places, and some families have mobile phones
and computers for each member, which exhaust the family
financially. However, in terms of psychological, health and social
aspects, the spread of violent images will have negative effects on
children such as an unacceptable reaction of fear, anger, discomfort
and rebellion and hitting others. With respect to children's academic
achievement, no one can deny the clear retreat of children in school
subjects because of the overuse of modern technological techniques.

VI. Discussion Related to the Sixth Objective of the Research to

be familiar with the family's role in reducing the risks of the modern
technological techniques. It is the parents' role to keep good
relationships with their family members and protect them from
engaging in the Internet and mobile atmosphere and other modern
means. Basically, there must be a constructive dialogue policy
between parents and children on one hand and between couples on
the other hand along with giving equal opportunities to all members
of the family in terms of freedom of expression and discussion. In
addition, time management helps to bridge the leisure and
occupancy in what is useful. Hence, it is necessary to encourage
family members to take advantage of their free time and access to
training courses. For example, parents can guide their children to the
best way to use these techniques without intolerance or rigidity by
clarifying the pros and cons and try to hold them part of the
responsibility and internal control.
 Previous Studies
There are many researches investigating the negative impacts of misusing
modern technologies on society in different countries in the world.

 Khulaifi (2002) sought to explore the advantages and disadvantages of

the internet. The results showed that most of the participants (91.7%)
have the desire to use the internet, and focus on the most important
uses of this network for the purposes of communication, exchanging
information with others, searching for information and entertainment.
Participants in this study revealed the negative aspects of the internet
such as helping in the cultural invasion, and causing social, ethical,
and health problems if it is used frequently.
 Lailah (2000) conducted a study aimed at clarifying the role of media
in the information technology that badly affecting the family
relationships, and focused on the negative impact of the performance
of the media and information technology in our society. As a result,
this helps to erode the value systems which oriented to family
interaction. The study recommended upbringing the young and the
adult according to a moral system supporting their identity.
 Bryant (2006) carried out a study intended to identify the relationship
between the use of text messaging and the formation of social
networks for teenagers. The sample of study consisted of 40
participants ranged in age group (11-13 years). The study results
confirmed that there is a limited overlap between friendships in the
lives of individuals and friendships through interactive technology.
So, there is a number of friends on the internet to communicate with
them on line and instant messaging has proven that it is not a
substitute for a source of social support to people who suffer from
isolation.
 Al Aga (2009) performed a study aimed at identifying the impact of
new technologies, the patterns of internet used, disclosure of the
negative uses and identifying the uses of mobile phone and Bluetooth
among the study sample on juvenile delinquency in the Gulf
Cooperation Council Countries. The results of this study showed that
there are significant differences in the patterns of the use of internet
technology and mobile phone among juvenile delinquents and non-
delinquents. Moreover, juvenile delinquents use the Internet and
mobile phones in negative acts more than others. However, there are
differences between juvenile delinquents and non-delinquents in the
main study axes according to the primary variables.
 Al-Majali (2007) demonstrated study to recognize the impacts of
internet use on the social relations among university students in
Jordanian society. The sample of the study was chosen randomly and
consisted of (325) male and female participants of Mutah University.
The results of the study showed that the impact of internet use on
social relations increased in the case of getting students to use the
Internet on their own, and the greater the number of hours the
participants used daily. The results also showed that most uses of the
internet are for scientific research purposes, and mostly within the
campus. In addition to that, the results showed the impact of internet
use on social relations and some qualitative variables, such as gender,
age, type of college, academic level, monthly income to the families
of the participants, as indicated by the (F) value in terms of statistics ≥
0.05. The study developed a set of recommendations regarding the
impact of internet use on the social relations.
 Rabab Al-Gammal (2014) highlighted the impact of new media
(social networking via the Internet) on the pattern of values and moral
on young people in Saudi Arabia in order to develop a mechanism to
promote moral values. The author emerged from the main objective
with the following sub-goals:
 Monitoring, examining and evaluating relationship between the
young and the modern mass media by identifying the intensity use of
the new media, the type of participation, motivation and the
implication of interest to young people towards them.
 Determining the moral order of the Saudi youth - as part of the Arab
and Muslim young people - and the degree of adoption of the youth
moral and religious values recently.
 Explaining how Saudi youth deal with virtual time provided by new
media especially the internet style.
 Monitoring the opinions and attitudes of young people about the
reasons for the spread of immoral behaviors and the relationship of
that amount of exposure to new media in Saudi Arabia other Arab
and the Islamic countries.
 Al Yousef (2006) conducted a study under a title of the "Advantages
and Disadvantages of Modern Technologies - Studying the negative
effects on the health of the individual." The study pointed out that in
the case of addiction to the use of the internet, this will lead to a loss
of self-control, the neglect of personal status, poor relations and
communication in the social environment. The study confirmed that
the risk of internet addiction is increasing among people who enjoy
free access to it, as a case of university students. To summarize, there
is a lot of research investigating the negative impacts of misusing
modern technologies on society in Jordan. The current research based
on the previous ones shows the negative impacts of modern
technologies on society. The authors hope that by showing the
negative effects of modern technologies, it will have positive
influences on individuals and society in general since modern
technologies play a main role in people's lives and future possibilities.

 Conclusion
Research shows that the correct use of modern technologies requires a
comprehensive understanding to the reality of change that happens to the
community. Thus, this requires concerted efforts through full cooperation
among all sectors of society, from family to government institutions, along
with the presence of useful awareness programs supervised by these
institutions and pursued by the family to utilize the modern technologies
accurately in order to ensure and protect the future generations. Nowadays,
people socialize with each other using online-environments such as
Facebook, MSN and phones instead of face to face interaction on these types
of communications. The nature of the human is not programmed for this
type of communication yet. People must live and work together to socialize
with each other’s. In conclusion, it is obvious that modern technologies can
be a double-edged weapon. They have their advantages, but with many
inventions, they can completely change our lives, for better or worse. As a
result, we must work for the interest of social connection to preserve
people's feelings towards each other away from the addiction to technology.
Finally, this research is simply a little effort towards doing justice to this
subject and it could assist future researchers in examining this topic with
other groups and in more depth and with more relationships to the present
use of modern technologies and their impacts on societies.
