What strategies work best for managing stress?

Managing stress is a hard thing to do for everyone. There are tons and tons of people that

have issues managing their stress. There are many different strategies that work for many

different people when it comes to managing their stress.

Many clinicians believe that different attitudes provoke different responses to

stress(Frey). Some people want to get better and learn different ways to manage their stress,

while others do not. Not everyone wants to get better, but if they have the right attitude and

mindset about it, they can.

“People doing difficult jobs should learn, or be taught, how to break down their

assignments into manageable chunks, take breaks and seek help when they need it”(Matthews).

Everyone needs to learn how to break things up. Breaking things up will help ease and lessen

stress. It also helps if people would ask for help when they need it, versus struggling and

stressing by themselves because they will not ask for help.

Stress can be very hard to get away from. It is important to find ways that help manage

stress for individuals personally. Some ways might be “noticing when you are stressed, taking

time to relax, getting active, eating healthy, and talking to friends and family”(MyHealthFinder).

Each individual is different. It is important that each person finds ways for them to

manage their stress. Something might work for one person, that might not work for someone

else. People cope differently and it is important they find ways to cope that work for them.

Yoga is something that could help with managing stress. It might not be something for

everyone, but it is always an option to try. The poses are key, “the balance of poses and breathing

help you achieve stress management and relaxation(MayoClinic).

When it comes down to it, stress is only as hurtful as people let it be. People control how

much they let it affect them, “whether stress has positive or negative consequences often depends

on how we deal with it”(Thomson).

Stress is stressful. There are many ways to cope with it, and for people to better

themselves in the long run. Find ways that work best.
