manufacturer is held to supply the instructions for their correct employment. For the eyebolts
employment refer to such instructions and also to the general rules described below.
To screw to bottom the eyebolt. The maximum capacities of load are refered to eyebolts screwed well to
the object to be raised. Using levers or other mechanical ways for thightening, make sure that don´t
cause overstrains on the shank. To tense cables and/or hooks before begining lifting.
In the lifting using two eyebolts the maximum capacity marked on the eyebolt is no longer valid. The
maximum capacity at inclined pulling is that given in the table. Never exceed the 45 degrees between the
eyebolt axis and the pulling cable. Rings of eyebolts must be rendered coplanary with the cables with a
correct tightening or by means of shim washers that have at least the same diameter than the support
face of eyebolts.
In the lifting using two pairs of eyebolts, the use of a balancin is recommended. For each couple of
eyebolts that use the same pulling point, precedent prescriptions are valid regard the maximum angle of
45o between the eyebolt axis and the cable and the coplanarity of the eyebolt ring with the relative
pulling cable. Is considered that in this type of rise, if is executed without balancin, with arms confluent
in an only ring, can be unloaded two arms opposed.
If the use of a balancin is not previewed, the designer shall to give specific indications.
In the choice of the eyebolts to use, in addition to the static load to be raised is necessary to estimate
also dynamic loads, that are present during the lifting operation.
The maximum capacities of load are refered to an operationg temperature between –10°C and + 40°C
(+14°F/ + 104°F).
In every re-use of the eyebolts, to inspect visually that there are not present defects like cutting dents,
cracks, deformations, tears or lacking borders, rust or evident signs of incorrect storage.
To respect the current safety standards relative to the modalities of use of the lifting equipment.
