EDUCATION
BA in Physics with Minors in Computer Science and Mathematics Sept. 2016 – May 2020
Carthage College, Cum Laude

EXPERIENCE
Avionics Communications & Navigation Technician Nov. 2020 – Present
United States Air Force
• Developed wire maintenance skills by soldering communication cords and replacing the boom
operator’s control stick
• Analytically troubleshoot malfunctioning antennas by interpreting voltage standing wave ratios
• Completed seven months of training on antenna theory, operation and documentation

RESEARCH
Python Data Analysis and Detection of Interstellar Bands June 2018 – Aug. 2018
Carthage College
• Designed a data pipeline of stellar spectra that analyzes electromagnetic wave data and tests for
the detection of Diffuse Interstellar Bands (cold gas between Earth and distance stars that have
unknown chemical compositions)
• Processed over 23,000 stellar spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey through template
division and equivalent width measurements to isolate DIB features
• Produced a series of heat maps of DIB strength throughout the Milky Way Galaxy with position
and distance

Independent Study of GW15092014 Feb. 2020 – May 2020

Carthage College
• Processed LIGO’s open source data by dividing the spectral amplitude in the Fourier domain to
find the characteristic chirp from inspiringly black holes
• Produced results of the masses of the black holes and total radiated energy that resemble the
initial findings
• Virtually attended the 3rd instillation of LIGO’s gravitational wave workshop lecture series
