Year 2 Month 4 Assignment: Attitude is Everything

Instructions: Follow the steps below to complete this month’s assignment about attitude in the work place:

STEP 1: PERSONALITY QUIZ

Take the quiz assigned to you at https://www.quizony.com/are-you-an-optimist-pessimist-or-realist/index.html

What were your results? The Silver Lining

Watch the video in the ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING section of the website. Give a one paragraph reflection of what you
learned about attitude from the video in the space below:

- I have learned that I tend to create a lot of walls for myself without knowing. I allow my mind to only focus on
the negative of who I am not or who I will never be and I let it consume me. But, I can’t change the body and
mind I was given. I have to learn to accept every part of me and continue trying to be the best version of
myself. To sit here and dwell on what others have is a waste of time, because others have less than me. I need
to accept and love me and what I have and change my perspective on how I can use what holds me back. I
need to transfer my negative outlooks on things into positive ones, in order to keep living without restraints.

Instructions: A lot of your attitude is controlled by how you think or how you approach different situations. Your
attitude can impact both personal and professional aspects of your life, as well as have long-term consequences for
your success and even your health.

Now review the sections below and answer the questions posed to you.

SET GOALS: It is easier to have a positive and motivated attitude if you know what you are doing and where you are
going. Not having goals or a sense of direction can make you feel frustrated and confused.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP THREE GOALS?

Personal 1. Eat more whole foods
2. Get enough sleep
3. Don’t social media influence me

Professional 1. Time management

2. Efficient communication
3. Prepared for every situation

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS: This can be hard at times; blaming others is an easy habit. However your
ability to take responsibility for your actions and behavior, both good and bad, will create attributes that contribute to
becoming a good leader.

THINK OF ONE THING FOR WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY IN EACH CATEGORY BELOW
Personal: Is there an example within your personal life where you didn’t take responsibility as you should have? What
were the results? I do not take responsibility regarding my health. I don’t sleep enough and it makes me very weak and
lazy. I know I need to be asleep by a certain time and I always disregard how it will affect me in the long run. I get sick
easily because of it and sometimes struggle to remember things.

Professional: Is there an example from work or a professional/school organization where you didn’t take responsibility
as you should have? What were the results?
I didn’t take responsibility in remembering my pack for a football game. We always need to have our supplies on us in
case of big pack isn’t around and I failed to do my part and have everything prepared for myself. It caused me to have to
scramble a small pack within a certain time period and stressed me out.
