Improvement of University Putra Malaysia’s management in giving

information to student

University Putra Malaysia, UPM is one of the Universities that are available in Malaysia where it
is located at Seri Kembangan, Selangor. UPM has many departments in their management
such as collage, sport centre, Wazan and Faculty Department. UPM also got the high ranking
in Malaysia university which is top 2 in Malaysia and 28 number in Qs University ranking in Asia.
Meanwhile, UPM has poor management in giving information to their students. So, UPM has to
be alert in giving information to students and should improve their management as a University
that gets the high ranking.

The aim of this proposal is to investigate and to get the survey from the students of UPM about
the poor of UPM in giving information to their students and their employees. ​The main objective
is to investigate what is the main issue of the poor UPM management in giving information to
their students to overcome the problem.

After that, as UPM students, we can identify a few problems that are related to the poor or lack
of UPM in giving information to students. This poor or lack of information given really affects
student If they will get the information late. First, we know if ​UPM gives the information slowly to
students. It will affect students because they will be late to get important information from U​PM.
For example, they are late to get information about the due date of the final year project.
Second, the due date for information is almost over. For example, information on scholarships
and deadlines is almost over like 3 days before the deadline. Next, ​information is presented by
level​. The problem is, if it is presented by level it makes other students get early information and
others get a little bit late about the information.

Besides, there are a few solutions to overcome the poor management of UPM in giving
information to students. First, ​information should be sent to all social media​. UPM should not
focus on only one platform such as email. They should improve by using all social media to
send the important information to students such as Instagram, WhatsApp, telegram and more.
Second, ​the important information should be sent early such as two weeks before the due date​.
For example, Sony’s scholarship, the due date is almost over and UPM informed it late. Next,
UPM ​should always remind the student about the information as soon as possible and with a
regular reminder to the student. MPPUPM and MPK can play an important role to remind the
student in UPM. So, that they can spread out the information faster to all the students in UPM
by using all the platforms. After that, ​UPM should add more staff or employees in the UPM
management to overcome a lack of management. Besides, ​UPM should do a competition about
our UPM department to get feedback from the public and to improve the quality of management
in U​PM as a university that gets the highest ranking. So, this feedback can overcome the
problem among the UPM department. For example, they can improve the problem of broken
links, lack of dwi-languages of the article information and more in giving information to students.
They can get feedback from the website evaluation result report of PTJ UPM.
