Educational Philosophy

Art is a form of communication, first and foremost, and allows room for self-expression and self-discovery. I believe in
encouraging my students to better connect with and understand each other to create a sense of community between
them. By demonstrating empathy when creating and viewing art, celebrating diversity and unique experiences of students,
and encouraging a collective value of students' artworks, opinions, and expressions, I can give each student a voice and a
chance to express themselves in the same way that I was able to through my artwork. I believe that art is essential in
understanding and embracing our differences.
