1. What is delegation?
Definition: the act of empowering to another.
In management: It is said when a leader of a company gives a
responsibility to another employee.
Personal definition: To let someone else can act in absence of the head
of the company, school or a leader in specific, also giving obligations but
also rights in the company in a different level.
2. Why is delegation important?
Due to the thousands of responsibilities that a head teacher has in a
school and the institution should be efficient and give the best for the
students but for the other teachers also and it implies to have extra help.
3. List 5 characteristics of an efficient delegator.
- Responsible
- Clear
- Specific
- Show effective communication for the processes in the institution.
- Accomplish the objectives successfully and thinking about making
the best for the institution taking the best decisions.
4. In an educational system, what roles should be delegated? Why?
- Authority
- Kindness
- Showing capability to fit the role.
- Willing to take the responsibility of the duties.
- Mutual cooperation.
Why?
It is known that a leader “authoritarian” is not a leader, but the tasks
must be completed and the best way to do it is with kindness not
forgetting the duties assigned. It is also important showing capability to
accomplish the tasks, self-confidence, and being able to do it, finally,
the mutual cooperation is essential to get the best results working in
team.
