emotional intelligence on their cognitive abilities in internship courses. The study used a
quantitative approach with a survey method on 30 students of physics education study program
who were taking internship courses. The data used in this study are secondary data collected
through documentation studies, and primary data collected using a questionnaire. The results of
data analysis using the t test, simple linear regression test and product moment correlation
obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.75 with a t-count of 6.59. Thus it can be said that there is
a strong positive correlation at the 0.05 significance level between emotional intelligence and
student cognitive abilities in internship courses.
