you ever (nearly) caused a fire?
Answer :
The cause of a house fire that I have experienced is when we cook, I forget to turn off the
gas compost so that what I cook is burnt, it almost explodes, also when the gas cylinder
leaks, an electric short circuit.
SUMMARY UNIT 3
They could see smoke from down the street. There was a small crowd on the
street outside their house. Smoke was coming out of the downstairs
bedroom's front window, but no sign of fire. And no sign of old Mr Cox,
Elsa's father. He lived with them and had a room upstairs at the back of the
house. He was not among the 10 people in the crowd. Her husband began
to push his way through the crowd toward the front door. But Alan knew he
couldn't wait. He covered his face with a handkerchief and ran up the stairs.
He pushed open his father-in-law's door. Old Mr Cox is sleeping soundly.
Alan made old Mr Cox climb on his back. covered his own face and
descended the stairs as fast as he could. There was cheers from the crowd as
he exited the house. Fire engines and ambulances arrived at about that time.
The first fire just started coming out of the front window. "This is all my
fault!" groaned old Mr Cox as they took him to the ambulance. "I was
reading the paper and I left it by the electric fireplace."
