Understanding Information
1.How do you know that the news was verbally delivered?
Because we usually find news texts that are delivered orally in television
news and also in news that are heard on radio broadcasts. Meanwhile, news
texts that are delivered in writing can be found through printed media such as
newspapers or magazines or electronic media such as news produced by
online media.
2. When you look closely at the announcement, you will notice that the owner
of the company tried his best to soften the blow of the bad news. An outline of
the announcement is given in the first column below. Write a fuller version in
the second column, using one sentence for each part of the outline. The first
one is done for you as an example.
