More similarities or differences? Explain HOW and WHY!

They had more similarities than differences. Most of the Democratic-Republicans sprouted from the
Federalist party so therefore had very similar beliefs. The main thing that changed was who they
thought should have the government power and who should be helped with that power.

Prompt: Compare and contrast the goals and achievements of the Federalists and Democratic-
Republicans in the Early Republic, 1789-1800. To what extent were the Federalists more successful in
reaching their goals?
